A Día de los Muertos-inspired afternoon celebrating community, culture, #food, youth, and #connection.

On Saturday, October 31, #GrowingGreatness and @New School are coming together for our first-ever fundraiser—an afternoon rooted in tradition, art, agriculture, food, and remembrance.

At the heart of the gathering are our local high school students, who will help lead and work throughout the event while gaining real-world experience in hospitality, teamwork, communication, food service, event production, and leadership.

THIS SATURDAY catch me in a Berkeley backyard from 9:30a-12:30p selling Turkish breakfast plates 🍽️😋 & other yummies<3 (dips, fresh flatbread, seasonal Turkish delights, hot bevys, fresh squeezed juice - all homemade)! 🥕🍈🌶️

full breakfast platter will feature oyster mushrooms from @thefungifarms, glazed in wild plum gastrique & topped with pickled foraged elderberries, a dish I’m bringing back from July’s supper club!! 🍄

mulberry leaf dolma will feature mulberry leaves from the beloved tree at @bancroftcommunitygarden 🌿

and of course, sourcing the season’s best produce from local farms like @jjramosfarms @rodriguezfarms @xiongfamilyfarm & many more!

this pop up is actually taking place at the annual “Tomato-Palooza” event hosted in the East Bay for @mariquitafarm, a small family-owned farm outside Watsonville. They will have a selection of heirlooms, dry farmed early girl, San marzano, & more, plus jalapeños, citrus, herbs, flowers, olive oil & other farm goodies. If you’d like to order a large quantity of tomatoes, there is a PRE-ORDER FORM at link in bio so you can make all your tomato dreams come true 🍅

@farm_cat_marmalade will be selling sweet AND savory jams / spreads for all your gifting (and snacking) needs 🍊
