Stay - Rihanna

Ok… I actually have no words so here’s the full story 🤣

Before I left, I promised myself I’d sing if I got the chance. I wanted to push myself, be more spontaneous, as I haven’t performed much since finishing college two years ago.

The first night my family and I were there, the hotel girls cast did a “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” show. Marisa sang The Climb, one of my mum’s favourite songs, and me being the Disney fan I am, we instantly connected with her.

Day 3, me and my mum got chatting with Marisa and she invited me to sing with her! We kept talking about it but I couldn’t decide on a song until the eighth night.

We didn’t miss any of her performances. We built such an amazing bond, and meeting someone so talented and genuine made my holiday.

On the ninth night, I left my parents at the boardwalk to see her last set. She even sang one of the songs from my second ever gig, which touched my heart. Afterwards, we agreed I’d join her the next night—if I made it from dinner on time.

On day 10, I woke up seriously unwell. I spent all day trying to feel better. My breath control wasn’t great and I worried I wouldn’t make it through. But I told myself singers often perform sick, so I pushed myself.

I made it out of dinner, Marisa called me over, and… the magic in this video happened. No rehearsal. I hadn’t sung it properly since college, I’m not sure how confident Marisa was on the song but I think we did a pretty amazing job. 🥹

Marisa, thank you for everything. Letting me perform with you was a dream come true. You’re truly the sweetest and most talented girl I know. I hope we get the chance to work together again some day. I love you and miss you so much 💗

Booked and busy (and maybe just a little sunburnt). Performing under palm trees hits a little different ☀️🎤
