"The sea was calm.
A calm almost insolent, as if it had no idea how many battles those hands had fought.
The sun was too warm.
Aurora was not accustomed to that kind of heat.
She had known the cold of the mountains, the wind that cut through the skin, and the snow that clung to her boots. She had slept beneath black skies, one hand wrapped around the hilt of her katana...
But that day, she had nothing.
No armor.
No sword.
No enemies.
Only the sea.
She lowered herself onto the sand, still damp from the waves, and remained there, listening to the water breathe.
She sat on the wet sand, letting the sunlight glide across her skin. Tiny droplets of water traced the contours of her shoulders and fell slowly, one after another, washing away the last memories of violence and taking the place of blood.
She smiled.
It was a different smile from the one that came before a fight.
Lighter.
“So this is what silence feels like...”
She murmured to herself, gazing at the blue sky streaked with white clouds.
It felt strange not to have the weight of steel at her side.
Strange not to have blood on her skin.
But the sea knew the truth.
And yet, that day, the only conquest she desired was to steal a few hours from the war.
Because even a storm, sometimes, chooses to rest beneath the sun."

"you have a fine eye for quality."

however the dwarf doesnt know Lira is on a quest to make a very grumpy and almost exclusively black wearing tiefling a little happier. 🤭

well, i had the worst artblock since id picked up drawing again. nothing felt or looked right and it was as if i forgot how to draw. it felt like i lost all of my creativity.
sooo i thought to myself "what crazy thing can i do to snap out of it?" and a whopping 26hrs later i finished this unit.

i had so much fun adding all these details and thingies i didnt care how long it took me and suddenly i was drawing 6hrs straight (⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝)
(and i really wanted to finish it before my vacation ends this thursday so i just kept going, haha)

i included some easter eggs and if you can spot them youre a very cool person and deserve a high five! 🫶🏻

theres no way instagram lets you zoom in without butchering the quality so i added some close-ups ദ്ദി(˶ •̀ ᴗ -˶)
