One year ago, this race was my first half marathon. I remember finishing thinking how do people ever run twice this distance?

Fast forward to now… I just finished my first official marathon. 26.2 miles in the heat and every emotion possible.

It wasn’t perfect. It was hot. It was hard. And after I crossed the finish line, my body hit its limit—I got a little heat exhaustion and threw up once I got home. But you learn from every race.

Somewhere between that first half marathon and this finish line, everything changed. I joined Running Fight Club (@running_fight_club ) in November, and it truly changed my life. It gave me people, purpose, discipline, and belief in myself when I didn’t have it. It turned something that once felt impossible into something I just did.

This race didn’t go exactly how I pictured—but maybe it wasn’t supposed to. Maybe it was meant to teach me. To humble me. To show me how strong I really am.
