Temecula, oh my goodness, you were amazing!! Thank you so much to Katie at @inbloombookery who is a force of nature! Thank you for pulling together such an incredible event for me last night: a flower wall, photo booth, cocktails, keepsakes; it felt more like a wedding reception than a book event! I could see exactly how much hard work went into making it so perfect and I am so grateful to you all. And then there was the DOGS.So many DOGS. It felt like heaven! The cover boy is Luc, a recently adopted poodle who was the most chilled dog I've ever met! Look at that smile! Then there were the bookshop doggos, Daisy and Winny, and other rescues, Trix and Remy. If you look closely at the montage photo booth slide, you'll see the very moment that Remy told Winnie to back off in no uncertain terms 😊

And then, as if that wasn't enough, there was @lucindaberryauthor! Lucinda is officially my favourite US thriller writer, and I met her in LA last year and she is so cool and clever and fun, and I was thrilled that we got to do a rerun this year too. We were joking that we looked like the newlyweds in the photo taken in the courtyard 😄 Thank you so much, Lucinda, for making the long journey out, it was fantastic and I'm so grateful to you.

And thanks OF COURSE to all the amazing readers who made it such a special night! Thanks for driving such long distances, laughing at my jokes, staying late in the line and greeting me with so much warmth and enthusiasm. Love you all!

Got back to my hotel at midnight and ate the last of the deli packs that lovely Rich and Trish gave me back in NJ, and half a glass of warm wine ... I'd accidentally left the fridge ajar all night and there was no hallway ice in my hotel 😭

Now I'm at LAX waiting to board my flight to SF for tonight's event with @napabookmine in Napa! See you there!

What a year!
Some great photo shoots, lots of consultancy work, amazing food and drink, our 25th wedding anniversary and a new puppy joining us.
But above all just brilliant people! Great friends, brilliant teams to work with and awesome customers.
