Here’s to the busiest week of this lovely little self-employed lives that we’ve created for ourselves. 🫶 (in this heat of course) 🥵🌶️ Monday Recovering after a weekend hiking and camping with pals in Yorkshire ⛺️ and hosting our second @independent_co_Working session at @junctionmcr. Ticking off a few edited galleries and delivering some all-important emails. 💻 Tuesday Pitching up @fuellingthehustle at @manchestercraft for its 10-day stint. Eeek! It still feels pretty surreal that our wheels are turning. ☕️ Popping out a couple more emails in the sun before heading over to @campfieldmcr to document AI, Scale & the Future of Growth, hosted by @hsbc in collaboration with Exchange Accelerator. 📷 Then serving caffeine to England fans at @edgeleypark in their World Cup Fan Zone. ⚽️ Wednesday An early start at @departmentuk_ Bonded Warehouse to document How Brands Win Visibility When Search Changes with @thisispromanchester and @pragencyone. 📷 A few quick edits, my final 1-to-1 with @carysandersonjones to talk all things personal brand, then over to the MCDC to help @mark_goodrock with the van. ☕️ Thursday Heading to Stockport CAN at @stockr__m for a panel on how businesses can engage employees in sustainability in ways that support stronger culture, better operations, lower emissions and more resilient workplaces. 👀 A catch-up with @thefestivalofmaking’s content team ahead of next weekend. 🪁 Then documenting @oneportst’s summer party. 🥂 Naturally, I’ll be popping by Hustle too. Friday A couple of calls with clients, but mostly editing in the sun and serving coffee with Mark at Hustle. 💻 Saturday This will be a busy day for Hustle at MCDC. We’re really hoping to get our name out into the community. Finishing the day at Edgeley Park for the next England game. ⚽️ Sunday I’m leading Rapha Manchester’s Sunday Social ride and, as you’ve probably guessed by now, they’ll be riding to the van tucked away in the Cheshire lanes. 🚲 It’s one of those weeks where photography, community, cycling, coffee and all the things we love seem to collide at once. A little bit chaotic. A lot exciting. And a good reminder of why we chose this path in the first place.

A coffee van in the middle of nowhere. Exactly where it needed to be. Last weekend, we joined @rapha_manchester’s Sunday Social, serving much-deserved brews after a morning on the Dunham lanes. Watching riders roll in, swapping stories from the road over oat flat whites and much-needed iced americanos, was a reminder that coffee is rarely just coffee. It’s often the reward at the end, the meeting point before the next adventure, or the excuse to spend more time together. Huge thanks to @rapha_uk, @vicaragegardens and @broadenstudio for making it happen. This weekend we’re back at it, supporting Rapha’s FAR ride as riders head deep into the Calder Valley before returning to Manchester. We’ll be joining the route around Hebden Bridge to keep everyone fuelled along the way. For us, these are exactly the kinds of partnerships we’re excited about. Cycling. Running. Outdoor events. Adventure brands. Community gatherings. If you’re creating experiences that bring people together, we’d love to be part of them. ☕ Fuel for the ride. ⚡ Power for the adventure. #FuellingTheHustle

Places feel better when people care for them! ☘️🌸 This Thursday (tomorrow) we’ll be outside @peoplewithgrit Kingston House, Stockport supporting a community-led refresh of the yard space. Planting, painting, tidying and making it feel welcoming again. Hustle will be there serving coffee from 11AM till 2PM ☕️ Come by, lend a hand, or just stop for a brew!

There’s something about a Friday evening in the UK when the sun decides to show up. Bike over car. Slow over rushed. Outside over everything else. It’s easy to forget how much these small moments reset things. And honestly, they’re not that different from what I’m always looking for in my work — real, unforced, just happening as it is.

Today I turn 30. Saying goodbye to my twenties seems a strange concept. Not as daunting as it sounds and I certainly don’t dread it as much as I did for leaving my teenage years behind. As I’m stepping into my third decade I’m noticing things are a little different. Staring businesses , asking my partner in life to marry me, finding myself and accepting the man I see in the mirror today, is the boy in that photo. Little mark would be very proud! Yup, that’s me, aged 5 standing in a tailor’s during my first trip to America, having just picked the suit I’m going to wear to a family party. I remember the man in the store pinning the hem and cuffs together the length just right. The feeling when he helped me tie areal tie (not like my elasticated one from school). I remember him telling me to never button the bottom one. I also remember the disappointment I felt when my mum said I couldn’t have new shoes to match the new suit! Turns out I’ve been into wearing suits longer than I thought!

There’s a lot to celebrate this year, it seems… We’re engaged! 💍 Mark asked the question on a bike ride (obviously 🤭), outside @dandelionbuxton in the Peak District. They serve lovely coffees and, apparently, sparkly rings too. 🫶🫶🫶 With both of us turning thirty this year, it feels like the perfect moment to raise a cup to love, growing older, and the adventures ahead. We’d love nothing more than to celebrate properly with all of you, but since that’s not quite possible, we’ve set up a little something instead. A @buymeacoffee page to help us fund a fancy coffee machine; something to mark this chapter, and fuel the next.
