All i can say is WOW... @pavlov.alex and his team from @northcliffcycles you guys were exceptional. The NCC trip down to durban is amongst the top 2 riding experiences that ive dine, second only to riding in Mauritius.
3 day break down: 1st day was a 235km ride from #northcliffcycles to reitz with 1650m of accent. Had an ave speed of 32kph. Regular stops with snacks food, drinks and great company meant the 7h16min spent in the bike felt effortless.
Day 2 we hit the road from reitz (with clean and lubed bikes) to Bergville 226km further and a nice 2400m of accent. The ave speed came down to 31kph and the wind got a little stiffer towards the end. We punched though it and we were met as everyday with a helping hand from @johannes.c.pretorius and Doug. We could just sit back and enjoy the afternoon. Take a shower have a beer and enjoy the @airrelaxsouthafrica area set up for us everyday.

Day 3 i woke to a beautiful sunrise and legs that felt great after 461km in 2 days. We had a breakfast and ready to hit the road to #petermaritzburg. It would be a 6 hour 180km and 2060m assend day in the saddle but so worth it. Chatting, laughing, pushing, motivating, more pushing, eating, keeping hydrated and just riding our bikes were the order of the day. We made it to the hotel just before the rain and enjoyed good company , drinks and some more #airrelax before we had dinner and headed up to our rooms for race prep.

Race day........ woke up with a little stifness in the legs (to be expected after 640km). Got dressed and did all the pre race routines etc. Went down to breakfast and packed our bags in the trailer. A nice gentle spin to the start got rid of the stifness and legs felt ok.... 3.2.1 and we are off. Big group of a 140rider started and went hard up fix hill. Legs were firing on all cylinders..... we split the bunc much smaller and it was on. Stuck with the guys until a guy went down 3 bikes before me and had to slow down to a. Almost complete stop. Tried chasing back but the bunch put the hammer down and i could not catch.. a solo TT to the end and then a small group caught me on the last km straight. Fun lead out for @rorybut but just playing around.
