Why don’t we value products more? Every year, our planet sees 2.12 BILLION TONNES of discarded items.

Reflecting on last month’s ‘In the Making’ exhibition at @materialmatters.design – a collaboration between the sustainability teams at @tpbennettllp and The Furniture Practice, alongside 12 brands with outstanding material and product stories. Huge congratulations to tp bennett’s sustainability team for their vision and for bringing this project to life, and thank you to all the wonderful suppliers for sharing their inspiring and thought-provoking stories.

Material Matters, with its focus on material innovation and the circular economy, was the perfect platform for ‘In the Making’. The exhibition aimed to peel back the polished façade of commercial products, revealing the time, care, resources, and the human and environmental impacts behind their creation—often overlooked aspects. We hope it inspires more informed choices, greater appreciation for the true value of these products, and ultimately leads to less waste.

Didn’t get a chance to experience it in person? We’re excited to share that you can now revisit ‘In the Making’ through a virtual tour. Follow the link in our bio. Huge thanks to The Furnologists for bringing this virtual exhibition to life.

We are thrilled to support the third edition of @materialmatters.design as it returns to the iconic Bargehouse at @oxotowerwharf this year as part of the London Design Festival 2024. The fair runs from 18th-21st September, bringing together world-leading brands, designers, makers, and innovators to investigate and celebrate the importance of materials and their ability to shape our lives.

For this year’s show, we are excited to announce our collaboration with @tpbennettllp on a project exploring the furniture industry’s relationship with the circular economy. Taking visitors on a curated journey, Room 12 at Material Matters will examine the ever-evolving relationship between materials, geography, people, and supply chains for commercial products.

Stay tuned for more details!

In the meantime, you can learn more about Material Matters and register to visit the fair via the link in our bio.

We’re delighted to share a 360-degree virtual walkthrough tour of our redesigned London showroom.

The space has been redesigned, illustrating our expanded offering for the home, workplace, leisure, and hospitality that goes far beyond the storage essentials, highlighting our continued evolution.

Our showroom debuts an expertly designed new layout, showcasing items from our own ranges, including Outline, Quarters, and LockerWall, as well as pieces from our partner brands MARK Product and Thomas Montgomery.

The Bisley Home space has also been fully redesigned to present our ever-expanding offering for the home. Inspired by the softer and more personal design choices we make for our living spaces, the Home Space incorporates furniture, colour, pattern, textiles, and accessories into curated collections for all key areas of the home.

Check it out on our website!

If you didn’t manage to drop by our showroom during Clerkenwell Design Week, you’ll see from these images, the London showroom has been truly transformed.

Both our corporate and home spaces incorporated our three new colours for our palette, showcasing how these beautiful hues can be used in a variety of settings. We also promoted our partnerships with MARK Product and Thomas Montgomery, as well our Bisley Bespoke service and smart locking solutions.

Watch this space to see what else we have planned this year!

And just like that.. ✨

…Clerkenwell Design Week has come to a close! 💔 The weather wasn’t exactly on our side for the usual festival vibes, but that didn’t stop us from going to see the latest updates and innovative designs from our suppliers, in addition to some new faces were keen to get involved with.

Thanks to all the lovely suppliers who gave their time to host us and answer all our technical questions (we’re suckers for detail!). We hope to see and work with you more throughout the rest of this year and share your exciting products with our clients.

If you have any questions about the products shown here or would like to get in touch to discuss your furniture requirements, give us a call or drop us an email on info@furniture23.com and we’ll be more than happy to help. 😊

We work closely with Redruth based furniture design company @mark_product , prototyping and manufacturing components for their extensive range of furniture. An example of this is their OTTO Laptop Table that we produce the stems and table tops for.

The solid Oak stems, which enable an adjustable table height, are first 3D profiled on our CNC machine. We then sand and finish them in our workshop along side the Oak-veneered Birch plywood table tops.

We are proud to work with local companies, like MARK product, who are producing high quality furniture with full transparency of their materials and processes, whilst always working to improve their standards of sustainability.
