Earlier this week in Washington DC, @iamsteveharveytv joined @markdein1, Chairman of the @MubadalaDCOpen, and @hamed_alharthi for a conversation about the role Mubadala and the tournament can play in bringing communities closer, creating meaningful experiences, and building connections that last.

@iamsteveharveytv saw firsthand how the @MubadalaDCOpen is creating impact beyond the tournament itself.

Joined by @markdein1, Chairman of the Mubadala DC Open, and @hamed_alharthi, the visit highlighted the work of @WTEFDC, the young people it supports, and the wider value of investing in communities over the long term. The conversation also reflected on the UAE’s approach to leadership, relationships, and putting people at the center of progress.

How were we supposed to pick just one to root for? 🥹🇵🇭❤️

When @alex.eala and @leylahfernandez played each other in DC, choosing a side was nearly impossible… so we didn’t. 😂 We made a sign for each of them, front and back, because we love them both so much. 🇵🇭🎾

And it’s not just because of the Filipino connection. Both Alex and Leylah have had such a special impact on our little one. They’ve stopped to talk with her, signed for her, hugged her, and always made her feel so special. Those are the moments she’ll remember forever. ❤️

Now they’re both playing someone else tonight in Toronto, and we couldn’t be happier to watch their growth and cheer them both on.

Good luck tonight, Alex & Leylah! 🇵🇭❤️🎾
We’ll be rooting for you BOTH! 🥹

As tennis parents, we couldn’t help but leave the week from DC feeling incredibly grateful. ❤️

The Mubadala DC Open is so much more than amazing tennis. It creates an experience that brings families together and inspires young players in the best way.

There is something truly special about watching the pros practice just a few feet away, exploring the grounds, and seeing the excitement on children’s faces. Those little moments are the ones we will remember most. They inspire kids to dream bigger and fall even more in love with this sport.

A special thank you to players like Alex Eala, Ben Shelton, Leylah Fernandez, Lorenzo Musetti, Arthur Fils, Liudmila Samsonova, Jessica Pegula, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Shuai Zhang, and so many others who took the time to smile, sign autographs, and make young fans feel seen. Those small acts of kindness create memories that last a lifetime.

I’m sure it isn’t always easy for the players to walk among fans all day 😄, but from a parent’s perspective, it is such a gift. It gives children opportunities and memories they simply wouldn’t have at most tournaments.

To everyone who makes this event possible, thank you. You have created something truly special for families, and we are so grateful we got to be part of it.

We left with full hearts, wonderful memories, and even more excitement for the future.

Until next year, DC. ❤️🎾

Alexandra Eala of the Philippines made tennis history by becoming the first Filipina to win a professional singles title after capturing the @mubadaladcopen on Monday.

Eala defeated World No. 3 Jessica Pegula, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0, rallying from a first-set deficit and dominating the deciding set to secure the championship. The victory moves Eala up to No. 20 in the latest WTA rankings, marking the highest ranking of her career.

Some tournaments give you great matches. Others give you memories. The Mubadala DC Open gave me both.

A special thank you to @mubadaladcopen and @markdein1 for creating a tournament that truly puts people first.

Already counting the days until next year. 🎾❤️

🎬 A little behind-the-scenes moment we’ll never forget.

After our Kidcaster interview, our daughter had a surprise for Alex: a handmade card. Her reaction said everything. 🥹

Congratulations on an incredible championship, Alex! 🏆🇵🇭 Thank you for your kindness, your humility, and for making one little girl’s day so special. These are the moments we’ll always remember.

We’re cheering for you! ❤️🎾
You make us all so proud!
