These fused glass fish are so beautiful when the light reflects on them. Looks like a real school of fish swimming on the wall. These fish have been hanging for years in the elements of the California heat, rain and windy conditions outside our studio at Hang Your Glass. Our black original super duty’s were used to hang these fish. Even though the glass has some transparency you don’t really notice the hardware. All your noticing is the beautiful art!

Next week I will be teaching at the Corning Museum of Glass. We have a last minute opening in our class if anyone would like to join us. We will be using basic glassblowing techniques to make cane and murrine out of Bullseye glass. https://classes.cmog.org/classes/738/cane-murrine-made-for-fusers

Session 4: Mixed Metaphors (Jun 22-Jul 3, 2026)

For my first course teaching at Pilchuck, we foraged for sticks from the wilderness, wired our own battery powered mobile transformers and lit up the night with our glowing forms. All in 12 short days!

Overjoyed to see old friends and enthused to make so many more 🌲 No place like it on earth. Thank you, @pilchuckglassschool @michael.endo @rayafriday and the whole crew up there in the glass forest.

Look out for the 2027 summer session release date Jul 11!

Waiting for the cool down on these babies. Fingers crossed the kiln gods were kind overnight!! Highly recommend Filling the Void Ebook by Judith Finn Conway & Kevin O’Toole. Great book, easy to follow and clear step by step instructions. Thanks @bullseyeglass for an amazing resource center💜🔥(back piece is a little Mosaic inspired by @markditzlerglassstudio class I took earlier this year) #kilnformedglass #fusedglass

My time @pilchuckglassschool Session 4 was once again a real treat this year.

I had an absolute blast learning the intricacies of flat-panel plasma sculpture from @markditzlerglassstudio and @glass.percy with tireless support from TAs @gaylaleeglass and @re_searchlab

1-2: Krypton kite (luminglass-type plasma sculpture modeled after a Penrose kite, krypton fill w/ glass beads)
3: Campus is beautiful as ever
4-6: Process shots of Kr kite
7-8: Process shots of opaline dream
9-11: Opaline Dream (flat panel plasma w/ Bullseye opaline glass and Ne/Kr fill)
12-14: Had a fun time assisting @zucchininoodlesandbeef and @manologlass for Mark and Percy's gaffer slots working on forms for plasma sculptures
15-16: Pulled my first ever vitreographs (prints from a glass plate) with the generous assistance of @ryeglass
17: Radiant Horizons class photo
18: Bonus shot of Frit (campus mouser)

So many more photos and things to think about as I head back to PA to pack...

To say these past 1½ weeks have been a dream is an understatement.

Every day has been filled with creativity, experimentation, and more to learn than I could have imagined. I haven’t even had a moment to fully take it all in.

Here’s one of my favorite plasma and neon pieces from the session. I especially love how @bullseyeglass Neo-Lavender and Opaline create a soft, dreamlike backdrop that makes the glowing plasma feel even more vibrant and alive

Huge thanks to @markditzlerglassstudio and @glass.percy for leading such an intense and unforgettable session. And thank you to @pilchuckglassschool for making a long-time dream come true by giving me the opportunity to begin exploring the world of kiln-formed plasma.

I’m leaving with a head full of ideas—and I know this is only the beginning.

I used to paint on old windows, this was before I took my first fused glass class. I’m using one of my old window patterns as my jumping off point for this project and I’m so stinking excited!! The end of this week I’ll open up your ability to sign up to come make what you’d like in the Rainbow Room.
