Hekate's Torch

This Witch Rock and Alternative Metal band from Vancouver Island weaves together mythological themes and modern existential struggles, creating a sound that is both haunting and empowering.

The band's name pays homage to Hekate, the ancient Goddess of Witchcraft, establishing a distinctive identity that reflects their influences and intent.

The group's musical style is a unique blend of Witchcore and Alternative Metal, infused with elements of post-punk, ethereal wave, and symphonic, characterized by dynamic guitar riffs, atmospheric keyboards, and captivating vocal work.

Founded by a couple of Hekatean Witches - Femmy and Robert, with their ethereal melodies and powerful lyrics, Hekate's Torch invites listeners to journey through the shadows, exploring the depths of spirituality and self-discovery.

Hekate’s Torch is:

Femmy Heqet - Vocals / Song writing
Robert Johnson - Vocals / Song writing
Marcos Tadeu - Bass, synth, guitar
Jorge Poesta - Lead Guitar
Kyle Hagen - Drums
Ebony Heqet-Johnson, The Meowstro

#WitchFest proudly presents #LiveMusic @marketsquarevic on #Halloween Saturday Oct 31st @7pm with #VictoriaBC own performing artists Andrea and Adam Zonnis, two star-struck lovers who wander our planet seeking beauty, connection, and peace. Their songs of hope and joy, blended with a nuanced view of human nature and honest social commentary, take audiences on a whimsical journey through the peaks and valleys of this strange road we call life.

Rooted in folk and roots traditions, their sound pulls from unexpected directions such as musical theatre and soul, wrapped around two voices that stop a room. Their music combines modern folk rock sounds like The Civil Wars and The Milk Carton Kids with classic Johnny & June vibes, tied together with masculine Leonard Cohen-esque songwriting from Adam and a Kathleen Edwards-ish feminist delivery from Andrea.

Their unforgettable live shows have earned critical acclaim across 500+ performances, including dozens of festivals and a 30-show tour of New Zealand in 2026.

In 2025, Adam received “finalist” designation in the 26th Annual Great American Song Contest for his song “Road Living”.

"Last night's polished performance with Zonnis felt more like theatre than a gig, with that rare sense of connection you only get when music is shared up close, playing to a full house." - Down By The River, Kaiapoi, New Zealand
