Future Encoded in My DNA

Model: @markiahmonai
Styling Assistant: @amyre__
Studio: @goldenhourlofts

This is the complete collection from my first art gallery. The concept is based around Afrofuturism. It merges African culture and identity with themes of science fiction, fantasy, and technology. It is a tool used to promote empowerment and heightened awareness within Black communities. I brought this to the city of Detroit to inspire deep thinking and spark imaginations.

I appreciate @wearestudiocreate and @jovanprints for inviting me to be in this gallery. It was truly an unforgettable experience. I also would like to give a huge thanks to @markiahmonai who was the perfect model, truly bringing it to life, and @amyre__ who assisted with styling for the concept.

Barnite w/ @zakiah_davis & @parker.vanwormer — DONE 🙂‍↕️

Putting this together in such a short amount of time was no joke, but wow… we did that.

Not gonna lie, this pushed me mentally and emotionally. But seeing it come to life? So worth it. For this being my first set ever, I just went for it and trusted my instincts..and I’m really proud of how it all turned out 🥹

And to every dancer selected, thank you🙏🏽 You each brought something different, something gritty, something completely your own. Y’all didn’t just learn choreo…you embodied the vision.

Up from here 💫

Full video and pics coming soon..but for now enjoy these snippets 💋
