Feeling pretty gosh darn proud right now. 💪

It’s been 5 months since my Dad died, and I was holding on by my fingernails at the end of last year. Since the start of 2026, I’ve been hitting the gym consistently and training with the best coach I’ve ever had @markkrysko and hitting personal best after personal best. He pushes me just enough while making sure there are high-5’s, encouragement and laughs along the way. 🙌😁

I feel stronger and fitter than I’ve been in 13 years - and this in spite of type 1 diabetes, a journey through cancer, menopause, osteoarthritis and complex meniscus tears in both of my knees, calcification in one of my shoulders - bloody hell, it’s a lot.

But what I know for sure is that feeling good physically fuels every other part of my life. I’ll never give up on that. If I’m still breathing, God has a purpose for me here and I’m convinced that my best years are still in front of me.

My mantra when I was going through cancer is that I would come back #BetterThanEver - and that is still a promise I stand by today.

Thank you to my village of amazing healthcare professionals keeping me alive, the very best community of pals at @vipfitnessandlifestyle and trainer and newest member of my #SuperheroSquad Mark! 💪🙏🙌❤️

“Guns of Purgatory” - Short Film 2016

Hundreds of people, cast and crew alike, showed up for each other and the belief that together we can create art that can make change. Taking on this ambitious feat with such care. Making it their own.

I haven’t had the opportunity to work with or see many of these folks since. I am indebted to the producers of this film for making 2016 a pivotal experience for me. Working alongside all of these people challenged me, and built me into a more well versed and confident Director. I am so proud of what we all accomplished as collaborative artists, but more so that we left this set with unforgettable memories as friends.

“Bow and Arrow” - Music Video 2015

2025 marks the 11th anniversary of @reubenandthedark ‘s Funeral Sky album. A foundational moment in the band’s trajectory over this past decade.

The narrative music video of Bow and Arrow follows the story of a young boy and his father as they struggle to cope with the loss of a loved one, and their family’s dissolution.

Bow and Arrow opens with Eli and Joel in the midst of resentment towards one another on their family farm. Eli’s father Joel, unable to regain his emotional strength, has become completely absent and begins to take his sorrow out on Eli. Subsequently leading to an exponential point of fear and chaos.

Released 10 years ago, the Bow and Arrow video is an extremely personal story about my relationship with my inner child.
Trying to understand the hurt I may have caused him as I grew into adulthood, and “masculinity”. Neglecting the need to converse with him.

This is my most pivotal work as a director.
As it completely formed my storytelling approach, and character development.

Having been friends with Reuben for nearly 20 years, I am so proud to have been a small part of this album’s initial release and to have watched my friend grow in his craft. Continually inspiring and reaching people worldwide through his art. Thank you for trusting me and supporting me through the years Reuben.
