Room for the Unknown

Every journey begins by choosing what to bring with you.

This one, instead, begins with the space I have decided to leave empty.

The suitcase is so long because it represents everything I do not know yet: the things I will learn, the encounters that will change the way I see, the mistakes, the influences and the unexpected directions.

Joining @paradisoinstitute is not a destination.
It is the beginning of the journey.

Let’s see what fits inside.

Thanks for the support to @hectorayuso and @markopfann

Looking back at the photos from the RevThink x Stash party at OFFF Barcelona, and feeling all the joy again.

You meet an old friend, they introduce you to a person you’ve been meaning to meet for years, and before you know it it’s midnight and the conversations keep going.

What makes it better is a good partner to do it, all love for @stashmedia.tv !

Let’s do it again next year.
Stay tuned!

Senses Before Sense landed at FIC and invited people to create the way children often do: with curiosity, instinct and very little concern for getting it right.

The outcome was messy, playful and unexpectedly beautiful.

We 💚 you Moldova! Huge thanks to @lidiascarlat @markopfann @cor.moldova @artcor_center @wearepiko @dont_forget_to_have_fun and Constantin Sarcov at Piko for making this possible.

Paradiso Institute comes to Moldova for the first time at FIC 2026. The cultural association brings an artistic experiment unlike anything you’ve tried before: Senses Before Sense – a collective workshop where every participant becomes co-author of a shared work.

No rules. No right answers. No expectations.

What’s gonna happen?
Every participant receives a letter from a collective message and turn it into their own visual universe – drawings, words, symbols, colours, anything. In the end, all the letters will come together into a single piece, displayed throughout the festival.

Your mentors are: Marko Pfann, creative entrepreneur at Paradiso Institute and Hector Ayuso, creative director, head of design, curator, producer, consultancy and maker, at Paradiso.

Facilitated by Constantin Șarcov at Piko and Lidia Scarlat.

📍 Artcor | June 5 | 2.5 hours
✅ Free access
⚠️ Limited spots – registration via waiting list on @unde.io

OFFF Festival @offfest once again proved why it remains one of the most meaningful gatherings for the global creative community. More than a festival, it is a space where disciplines, studios, and voices converge, building connections and a shared sense of culture.

This year, our Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini @cosimolp and Debora Manetti @deboramanetti representing also our @typecampus department, took part in the experience, bringing our perspective as type designers and storytellers. Together with @patopato.tv we presented the fourth edition of #BINGOFF, continuing a project that playfully reflects on the rituals and dynamics of the creative process.

As a central hub for the community, OFFF naturally brings together hundreds of creative minds, including festival managers such as @forwardfestivals and @usbynightfest , creating a moment where different experiences intersect and contribute to a wider dialogue.

We return home with new connections, fresh energy, and the same drive to keep the conversation going. Thank you to everyone we met, hugged, high-fived, and font-geeked with. Special shoutout to the brilliant minds we crossed paths with @uncommon.creative.studio , @stashmedia.tv , @revthinkchief , @birgitpalma , @martinaflor , @adobelive , @tinatouli , and many more for the company, the laughter, the beers, and the inspiration.

Special congratulations to @pepsalazar for creating and developing an event that, year after year, keeps growing while remaining a true point of convergence for the design community.

See you next time!

Recap: 2025 Jan-Mar

Winter held us in close.
Snow slowed the days. Care became the center.

Josie’s PT unfolded one careful step at a time,
ending in a March graduation that felt monumental.

A brief thaw in Mérida for Paradiso Fest—
light, creative community, warmth—held just long enough.

Most of the season lived close to home.
Devotion to our senior dogs:
birthdays, small victories, lingering walks,
choosing presence again and again.

A season of tending.
Of honoring what was already here.

The sacred ordinary.

Bravery doesn’t have to mean rage quitting your job or blowing up your career.

Sometimes it’s more subtle than that.

It’s admitting who you actually want to be. Writing it down, and taking one honest step toward it, even when it feels unrealistic, late, or inconvenient.

Stepping out of an old identity will always feel scary. But as @markopfann says in this clip, deciding to become someone you really want to be is one of the bravest risks you can take.

The moment you commit to that version of yourself, your energy shifts. And the work starts to follow.

The more complex the world becomes, the more we look for people we trust. Not just talent or creative output, but people, their personality and what they believe in.

When anyone can make anything, the work stops being the main signal. The person behind the work becomes the signal.

Voice and personality will be so much more important for creatives. Creatives who are also “creators” will end up not just being hired for what they make, but for the way they see, think, and guide.

THE COST OF PLAYING IT SAFE

A lot of us don’t realize we’re playing it safe, but creative safety, imitation, and industry pressure can quietly erode identity.

This isn’t about a lack of ambition. In many environments, and often within our own mindset, safety disguises itself as responsibility. Delivering on time. Following the brief. Matching references. Staying in familiar territory.

It’s a tension many of us feel throughout our careers. Technology accelerates production, trends collapse overnight, and clients ask for originality while rewarding what already feels familiar.

Many creatives who feel stuck try to keep playing by the old rules, but the rules have changed. If your work blends in, your identity goes with it.

The only real differentiator left is identity. Our taste, our voice, our choices, and the lived experiences that shape them. These are things no model can generate on our behalf.

My latest episode of @objectsubjectform is with @markopfann , someone who understands this shift deeply.

He once had everything creatives are told to want: seven-figure revenue, big teams, worldwide branding work, a stack of awards. On paper he had “made it,” but inside, he felt empty. Proof you can win the game and still lose yourself.

So he walked away from the version of success everyone expected him to protect.

Together with @hectorayuso , Marko co-founded @thinkparadiso / @paradisofest_ a creative retreat and community where he helps creatives reconnect to the part we can lose under pressure: identity.

In our conversation, we talk about how creatives lose their voice without realizing it, why imitation weakens identity, and the hidden costs of playing it safe.

We also get into the psychology of creative confidence, the role of taste and language, and why personality is becoming as important as a portfolio.

If you’re feeling creatively stuck, unseen, or quietly holding back, this one will resonate. It did for me.
