In April, I picked up my camera for the first time in years after taking a photo with my phone after an exhibition in London. I realised I missed it. Work had taken over my life and I didn't have a creative outlet.

With the support of my wonderful partner @catface321 I went out on a photo walk with @walkingphotographer on Southbank to overcome my lack of confidence taking photos in public. I met @mattjackson.photography and joined his Focus Mode community which has been super helpful with helping understand the technical aspects of photography and even helped me discover long exposure and night photography which I never used to enjoy. @sabrina.warnecke has helped me understand social media betterI would probably not have continued had it not been for those moments of insight and support. @markrichardsphotography
for saving me a fortune on cameras insisting that money spent on lenses are more important.

I entered several competitions which has resulted in the rose photograph being submitted to a gallery exhibition in Philadelphia in February 2026. I've also had a couple of friends buy my prints which are displayed on their walls at home. I've also had times where I struggled and couldn't get it right and wanted to give up because I felt like my photos were terrible.

2026 I want to visit more cities in the UK and Europe. I also want to improve my editing because frankly, some of the photographers I follow are incredible and their photos are awe inspiring. I've split my time between London and Birmingham but there's definitely more to see and explore. I plan on going back to Edinburgh for a longer stay and I'm eying up Paris, Krakow, Prague and i fancy another tour of Italy is on the cards.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone.
