My first visit to Chicago and my first tattoo. I arrived with a suitcase full of vintage botanical books to design my tattoo. I think @marksdillon was getting his 7th or 9th??? Thank you @bswelt, it still looks fantastic after all of these years!

Leave a #👕 if you like! 🤭 When I started to build a more sustainable vintage style slow fashion wardrobe it was hard to find timeless Henley shirts, named after the traditional uniform of rowers in the English town of Henley-on-Thames. Here is a variety of five different interpretations of this basic classic menswear essential which have come into my possession over the years - they have all been worn and washed several times at 60°C despite the in some cases recommended lower temperatures 😇

Today, Henry, the bassist from the group Current Joys, @currentjoys came to visit us from New York. His performance was already held in Aoyama on April 9th, and he’s going to play in Los Angeles next week, so he came to see us despite his busy schedule! Thank you for always checking out our Instagram! And one more thing, his father makes handmade undershorts for old-fashioned gentlemen, and I follow him personally! It felt like a fateful encounter with this coincidence.

Leave a #💪🏼 if you like! 🤭 So happy I finally received my new bespoke 1920s drawers by @marksdillon ♥️ Since these authentic undergarments have no elastic they are connected to one’s suspenders / braces with two loops sewn onto the front on each side. He not only made these a little bigger in the waist but also added an inch or so to the rise since I gained a little weight since he made my last drawers ☺️ Also we went for a longer leg for extra warmth in winter 🥶 After I got dressed Beau was kind enough to put the garment to a little stress test 😜 They are a jolly good fit 😇

Leave a #🧵if you like! My first visit to the atelier of @marksdillon - sewist of vintage style men’s drawers. Having worn his authentic 1920s undergarments for quite some time now we needed to adapt the fit as I am still in the process of gaining weight since I stopped smoking. Historical clothing and reproductions in vintage style fit and support your body quite differently in comparison to contemporary outfits but are nonetheless comfortable when worn in the right size. Although it is disappointing to realise a hard to come by item is no longer fitting you and needs to be replaced - I have somewhat also learned to embrace the fact that our human body is ever changing for various reasons and deserves to be treated with respect in its complexity. I no longer focus on worrying about the changes, but instead honor my body as it is in the moment with the attire that serves it best. In this case I have outgrown the adjustable straps at the back of the underpants which already allowed it to grow with me two sizes. Now it is time for something new - can’t wait for my order to arrive! 🤭

Breaking in this extraordinary gift from my friend and seamster of my custom made drawers @marksdillon - When I visited his Studio in NYC Mark kindly bequeathed me with this long sought after menswear classic: An antique Derby or Bowler Hat in the Cromer Style manufactured for @brooksbrothers New York by @herbertjohnsonhatters of New Bond Street in London. The hard top bears almost no marks and no dents at all- a perfect fit and a dream come true for me! Thank you so much Mark! 🤗 Paired with the green Shetland suit by @cathcartheritage and the Nobleman’s boots by @americanduchess it’s my favourite outfit this winter - …unless it does rain, that is! 🤗
