🎧 Audiobook of the Week 🩸

Blood Rising by @markusredmond

The Barrow plantation fell. The people it enslaved rose as the Ramanga Tribe, vampires of an ancient African bloodline, and renamed the land the Crimson Plantation. The Native families who fought beside them live there too. 🌑

Kwadzo Okoro leads them now, and freedom is proving harder to keep than it was to take. The Crabtrees are rallying every slaveholder in the region for revenge. And Rafazi, the ancient Ramangan whose blood started the rebellion, has decided he answers to no one. 🔥

This second book picks up where Blood Slaves left off, in a Carolina where the enslaved freed themselves and now have to fight to stay free. Heads up, the violence is graphic. It's bloody and brutal, and it gives the people who suffered on those plantations teeth. ✊🏾

Just a few of the book lovers who have recently walked through our doors and officially became part of the Da Book Joint fam. 🥹📚

You know one of our favorite things is watching people come into the shop looking for a new read and leave with a stack, a recommendation, a new favorite author… and hopefully a reason to come back and hang with us again.

Because yes, we’re a bookstore. But the PEOPLE are the heartbeat of this business.

Every conversation. Every new face. Every returning customer. Every “That book you told me to get …. I LOVED it!” means more than you know.
So please keep coming in. Keep finding books. Keep bringing your friends. Keep making this space yours.

Da Book Joint is better because you’re here.

And to our newest Book Joint fam: welcome to the family!
