Id drive across states to skate a curb with these fellas, so getting a road trip with them from our beloved Cleveland, across Lake Michigan by boat, and then the TURF made this trip totally bananas. Things can get complicated, but the formula remains simple for us: skate with your friends. Duh.

Big shoutout to @markusriders and his company Gunntucky Enterprises for being our first monetary sponsor for this year’s Crested Butte Bowl Bash! Who’s going to outdo his $1,000 donation?

Marcus has been a key part of the Gunnison skate scene since he landed here. You’ll notice his name on the sponsor board at the Gunnison skate park as well. His connections with @teampainskateparks was key to getting the Gunnison skatepark built. Also, Back when he was getting his degree in Ohio he was living full time at @official.skatopia , were you wondering how we got skatopia to sponsor our bowl bash last year?— talk about core.

He’s continues to support the scene in every way possible, donating not just to the Bowl Bash, but also to the first one in a while to donate to the CB South Skatepark Fund, which currently has $16,900 set aside (even though the POA decided to prioritize pickleball courts first and put the skatepark on the back burner. Should we call and start asking when it’s going to happen ).

If you’ve ever been to his place, you know he breathes skateboarding — from pool coping as a front lawn walkway to a room in his house fully dedicated to skateboarding and its history.

Thanks for always backing the culture, Marcus. We appreciate you! #skategunnison #skatecrestedbutte #skatecolorado #crestedbutte #gunnison

Shoutout to @jmaudsley218 for spending the last two days fixing up parts of the Gunnison Skatepark. Not only is he helping keep the park in shape now, but he was actually part of the crew that built the park back in 2012 when he worked with Team Pain. We’re lucky to have someone in the valley who cares enough to keep the park rolling strong more than a decade later. If you need any concrete work done in the Valley we recommend John and his business at Mountainside Concrete. @markusriders and @shaihuld1987 also helped out where they could.
