Crown 2026… Words aren’t enough. I’m gonna miss this group of people.

This summer (although it’s cliche to say, it’s true) was the experience of a lifetime: following a dream I’ve had for years to march world class drum corps. I had no idea though how much the Blue Stars would mean to me over the course of 71 days, 510 hours of rehearsal, and every waking and sleeping moment spent together. I had no idea I’d shed so many tears in the final days, some of joy for this show and this corps, some of sadness to see the ageouts leave and to see every “last ___” now in my rearview mirror, and some of gratitude for my friends and what this summer meant. All the blood, sweat, and tears we shed as a family for the love of each other, the Blue Stars, and this magical activity was well worth every ounce.
The end really does crown the work, not just from rehearsal to performance, but in relationships formed, obstacles overcome, and growth achieved.
FCO 💙⭐️

There are so many thanks in order, but in short: the membership who made the Blue Stars feel like home, the ageouts for the time and love they’ve given to this corps, every staff member who welcomed me like family and and helped me grow, all the volunteers, teams, and admin behind the scenes who made this possible, the media team who captured moments I’ll be able to remember forever, the alumni whose shoulders we stand on, my parents who encouraged me on this journey, and most of all God who ultimately provided me this opportunity and works everything together for my good.

If you were to tell me when i was 14 that I’d be marching with the best brass line in the world one day, I’d have said you were out of your mind. Yet, here we are. Carolina Crown 2026: The Doors of Perception was a place that allowed me to discover the best and worst parts of myself, all so that I can live to be the man I must become. It taught resilience in the face of adversity, and to keep my spirits high, even when they had every reason to be down.

To the staff: you entrusted me with a goal I wasn’t sure I could achieve, yet you pushed till the very end to do my best, and yes I got cut off a few parts, but I still feel like I did my best effort to help the rest of the hornline win the coveted Ott. Thank you for making me believe more in my abilities as a performer and musician.

To my Stryke friends, thank you for pushing me and believing in me even when I didn’t in myself. There were many moments I felt a sort of imposter syndrome, being apart of something much bigger than myself. But, we all were. Each in a different corps, we learned what it is to push ourselves to our limits, and give more. We all grew, and walked out of this enlightened and with a dream completed.

To all my friends i made on tour, you guys saw me everyday at my best and worst, and if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be crying my eyes out singing Band of Brothers for the last time. You all inspired me to get better in so many ways I didn’t think was possible, you have my eternal gratitude.

To everyone else not pictured because this portrait would take up a whole room, you all have a special place in my heart. We all came together at this one point in time to create something magical and i’m so proud of everyone giving there absolutely best to do something many people wish they could do. You all have the power to be amazing, so go and do that. Be exemplary and never settle for less. Be the person your younger self needed. Go beyond.

Thank you Carolina Crown for opening the doors I never thought would be possible, you are always in my mind.

We Lucky Few. We Band of Brothers. 👑

Dear Colts 2026,

Thank you.
Thank you for long walks to rehearsal sites. For hot hose water in my jug on a hot day. For sleepless nights on Mike bus. For 3 hours of floor time and a full rehearsal day. For 2 hour tracking blocks. For freezing cold showers and burning hot ones too. For two working shower heads but extra time in the EPL. For sets 1-20. For every moment I held a megavox and ran the met.

Thank you for showing me that success starts with your mindset and every ounce of blood, sweat, and tears were worth the fight if it meant this will be a place and people to forever call family. It was never about the scores but making history with you is something I'll never forget. Colts 2026, you inspire me to be a better leader, performer, and person and I'll carry this summer with me always.
I love you, Colts🔺🔺🔺
