In one week, this girl starts a whole new chapter in New York City. 🥹🗽❤️

Don’t worry… I’m feeling so much more excited than sad, and I’m so proud of her for having the courage, halfway through her college years, to listen to her heart and choose a new path. To leave what’s familiar, move across the country, and explore a whole new life because she felt a little ping inside telling her there might be something more for her.

I know what it feels like to hear a pinging. To realize the path you’re on isn’t necessarily the path you’re meant to stay on. To change course, trust yourself, and begin again.

I did it later in life when I left the career I had known for decades to follow something calling me in an entirely different direction. And now I get to watch my daughter be brave enough to do it in her own way, in her own time.

Maybe one of the greatest things we can teach our children is that it’s never too late, or too early, to choose again.

That we’re allowed to change our minds.
We’re allowed to want something different.
We’re allowed to follow the pinging.
And we’re allowed to create a life that feels like our own.

I’m so proud of you, Marli. Go find out what’s waiting for you, I know it will be good. ✨

That’s a wrap on the Boulder chapter of Mar’s life. Here’s what I’ll remember...

It’s a beautiful city.
The weather is bipolar.
The boys are tall.
They’re also well mannered.
They party hard at CU.
Marli made a lot of lifers.
I’m grateful that she had this experience that we’ll all remember for a lifetime.
And I’m glad I have friends who live here cuz I’m definitely coming back.

Cha cha changes…✨

It’s official. Baby girl is leaving CU Boulder and moving to NYC and was accepted at Parsons New School of Design, and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

Proud of her for listening to her inner voice…
for not waiting until the “right time” or the “expected path”…
for trusting herself enough to leap.

She’s choosing the arts.
Choosing inspiration.
Choosing to surround herself with people and experiences that light her up.

And maybe most of all… she’s choosing her own life.
