Our patio has a new look! The incredibly talented Marly Beyer has transformed our patio wall into a sweeping Pacific Northwest landscape, with one particularly wonderful owl keeping watch at the end. 🦉

And Marly isn’t new to Fireside. Years ago she was behind our bar and an integral part of the day to day here. Once part of the Fireside family, always part of the Fireside family. 🤍

The Low Residency MFA Thesis Exhibition reception is tomorrow from 5-8PM at PNCA!  
The LRVS Thesis Exhibition brings together a dynamic group of emerging artists working across disciplines, ideas, and forms. The exhibition presents ambitious new work that challenges conventions, pushes boundaries, and imagines new ways of seeing and connecting. Grounded in experimentation and critical inquiry, these practices reflect the evolving landscape of contemporary art and the conversations shaping its future.

ALRATITOstudio presents After The Applause, its first exhibition in Los Angeles, curated by founder Nadia Guitteau. The exhibition brings together artists and designers from Mexico and Los Angeles, including Angela Damman, Christian Anson, Christina Pierson, Corina Gamma, Erik Otsea, Ernesto Azcarate, Genaro Hoepfner, James Naish, Jason Mizrahi, Kasper Kovitz, and more.

Inspired by the Anthony Quinn mural visible from the gallery space, After The Applause reflects on the moment after a performance ends, when the stage is empty but traces of storytelling remain. Drawing on the cinematic mythology of Los Angeles and the Bradbury Building’s history as an iconic filmed location, the show focuses on objects, structures, and images that outlast their original function.

Marly Beyer’s Fools For Love will be presented as part of 𝑨𝑭𝑻𝑬𝑹 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑨𝑷𝑷𝑳𝑨𝑼𝑺𝑬.

Based in Los Angeles, @marlybeyer works primarily in narrative ceramics and large watercolor drawings. Her work is shaped by relationships, memory, myths, dreams, music, road stories and the strange emotional textures of everyday life.

Fools For Love is about human connection in all its messy intensity: chemistry, attraction, vulnerability, impulse, and the moments when we lean into an experience before fully understanding it.

The piece is hand-built, mostly made with coils, and illustrated using sgraffito, a technique in which the surface is scratched or carved to reveal the clay body beneath the underglaze. The result creates a sharp graphic contrast, close to the feeling of a woodblock print.
