Four years ago this week, my best friend and I found an unexpected houseguest—fully passed out in my car in Montauk. Yeezys off, Rolex shining, and using my cousin’s sweatshirt as a pillow like he’d booked the deluxe suite.

We’re still not totally sure how he got in (the sunroof theory lives on), but turns out someone (ahem, @mcoyne13) forgot to lock the door. Why drop $600 a night when you can nap in a stranger’s backseat for free?

Still waiting on the Airbnb review he forgot to leave. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

That said—let’s be clear: no one should be doing this. We were lucky it didn’t escalate and that everyone was safe. But it’s a good reminder to lock your doors and stay aware.

Montauk in the fall feels like magic, and @navybeachmontauk is the kind of place that proves it. 🌊

The night we went, the beach was packed—Adirondack chairs lined the pebbled shore, big daybeds facing the water, and every single seat filled with people who came for the sunset. The DJ was playing the perfect mix of feel-good tracks that had everyone nodding along, smiling, and even dancing in the sand. Groups of friends, couples, families, and a few bachelorette parties were all there, toasting to life and soaking in that golden light as the sun melted into the horizon.

We started with cocktails (the Hot Skinny Wench with jalapeño heat and the Butterfly Margarita with lavender were standouts, plus an Aplós mocktail for a refreshing zero-proof option) before digging into apps—salmon tartare on crispy rice, shrimp tempura hand rolls, charred shishito peppers, and grilled avocado with shrimp and chili oil. For mains, the scallops, bucatini pomodoro, and buttermilk fried chicken hit the table, each one as good as the view.

Navy Beach isn’t just dinner with a view, it’s an experience. One of the absolute best things to do on Long Island in the fall before it closes for the season. 🍂
