I stepped back on the mat this weekend & mannnnn did I miss the feeling it brings. Earlier this season, I told @william_brooks000 I would do a college open with him this year & I stuck to my word because that’s what being a man is about‼️

Wrestling is such a beautiful sport because what other sport can you compete alongside your coach/student with? This is supposed to be fun & if you’re not having fun what are you doing it for?

The moment was surreal for me having my dad drive up to coach me & having one of my brother in arms in the corner for me as well!

@mettaworldmurph & I go back to the early Rampage Wrestling Club days eventually competing in college at the same time & starting @thestj_wrestling together from scratch! Building something bigger than us. He is nothing short of FAMILY to me! We battled then & we make each-other better to this day.

My high school boys came thru to watch & support this old dawg. It’s hilarious to me that all season long I’ve been warming them up for battle & this time the tables were turned. Love these dudes!

I realized shortly before I went on it had almost been a decade since my last wrestling match. I always heard my coaches all my life say “don’t get old” & now I know that for sure as my knee popped during my match lol. I finished out with the win but as I told my kids the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze on this one to continue on.

I’ll always be a life long competitor, this will not be my last time on the SLAT. But it felt good to be home ❤️‍🔥 the lungs burning, the forearms cramping, the whistles, the yelling.

Lastly, I want to thank my queen @marrvelousmegan for her support & being a road dawg all weekend, whether I was wrestling or coaching. I LOVE U VALENTINE! I know them bleachers are unforgiving so thank you 💘

uncut 2025. *volume up* it was a big year. my sister started college and learned ‘piano man’ on harmonica. my brother graduated college and moved to a different state. i paid off all my debt and fell in love? my grandma turned 95? i cried. i laughed. i laughed uncontrollably. i wrote a lot of people a lot of letters. i worked extremely hard. i made mistakes. i kept going. and now we are here. continuing to explore what it all means (see last slide). thank you, i love you.
