ARTIST BIO: Namilla (Stendo Gang)

Catch him live June 27th @Kreflo Evans live at the Brownsville Pub

The Voice of the West Coast Underground

Hailing from Vancouver and bred through the raw energy of the Surrey street scene, Namilla is one of the most uncompromising voices redefining West Coast Canadian hip-hop. As a core member and co-founder of the Canadian faction of the notorious Stendo Gang, Namilla has spent years anchoring his sound in quality street rap, hard-hitting lyricism, and unmatched authenticity.

Namilla’s foundation in the underground was heavily shaped by his late brother, mentor, and Stendo Gang co-founder, Don Castro. Following Castro’s untimely passing, Namilla took the mantle of carrying their shared legacy forward. Infusing his music with the meticulous attention to detail and perfectionism passed down by his mentor, Namilla’s tracks deliver a heavy-hitting blend of raw, real-life storytelling and high-octane flow.

Namilla’s signature style thrives on high-energy delivery, gritty street anthems, and sharp freestyle ability. He consistently commands attention by jumping on massive, booming production and making it completely his own, marked by a dark, futuristic, and unapologetically raw visual aesthetic.

• "My Patna": A deeply personal, heavy-hitting tribute track dedicated to the memory and legacy of Don Castro, solidifying Namilla's role as a torchbearer for the crew.

• "Evol Machine": His 2020 project that showcase his versatility, combining dark, atmospheric trap sonics with relentless lyricism.

• Viral Freestyles & Visuals: Renowned for aggressive, scene-stealing drops like his "Faneto (Freestyle)" and the "Truth (Young M.A Illamix)" freestyle—both backed by crisp, cinematic visuals from elite West Coast videographers like Capital Wave Entertainment.

"Don was a perfectionist... One thing I can say is he will live on through me, Stendo Gang, and through music." — Namilla

With a relentless work ethic and an ironclad bond with his collective, Namilla continues to drop heavy visuals, sharp remixes, and definitive street tracks that prove he isn't just rapping—he's cementing a legacy.

Artist bio Catch Doug Tree next week on June 27th @Brownsville Pub

Born at Shambhala Music Festival, Doug Tree is the street-pharmacist alter ego of Vancouver hip-hop veteran and one-time mayoral candidate Dubgee. While Dubgee’s music digs into politics, mental health, and working-class life, Doug Tree exists in the shadows — a low-key rap vigilante, party starter, and sworn enemy of wack emcees.

Doug’s latest project, Pre-Rolled Joints, leans into raw bars, loose stories, and loop-driven production that sounds exactly like the title suggests: beats that came already rolled and ready to spark. His newest single, “Beast Vancouver,” is a summer anthem that can only be unlocked by beating Doug Tree’s Joint Quest, his new HTML game where players roll joints, tube them up, and slang ’em.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
COME CHECK THIS LEGEND IN THE MAKING ON JUNE 27TH @The Brownsville Pub Surrey BC

The Return of Vancouver’s Avant-Garde Wordsmith

Jakub Evolved

Is a veteran of the Vancouver underground hip-hop scene whose dense, high-art lyricism and surrealist visual style offer a stark, intellectual alternative to mainstream rap. After a five-year hiatus, he has officially returned to the landscape with his first solo release of the streaming era, the critically acclaimed album THE HEIRLOOMS IMMINENCE, available now on all digital streaming platforms

Often described as an "artist's artist," Jakub Evolved constructs what he defines as proletariat hip-hop. His music is deeply grounded in working-class grit, yet elevated by an intense, mythic creativity.Jakub rejects the need for cheap spectacle or internet gimmicks. Instead, his presence commands attention through sheer gravity, artistic authority, and a sharp, understated delivery. His writing demands multiple listens. Eschewing passive, surface-level trends, his bars are intricate puzzles packed with historical, literary, and philosophical depth

Self-proclaimed as the Leonard Cohen of rap, the Kafka of hip-hop, and the Dostoevsky of lyricism, Jakub Evolved treats the microphone like a printing press for existential literature. He seamlessly injects dark, existential, and psychological themes into modern boom-bap and abstract hip-hop structures.
His aesthetic identity is defined by dreamlike, jarring, and highly conceptual imagery that perfectly mirrors the complexity of his poetry.

THE HEIRLOOMS IMMINENCE

Marking his grand re-entrance into the music industry, THE HEIRLOOMS IMMINENCE represents a creative rebirth. As his first proper solo album in the modern streaming era, the project serves as a masterclass for listeners seeking substance over hype. It is an intentional, sonic rescue mission designed to pull audiences out of the shallow waters of modern music and drop them into a nuanced, deep-water listening experience

Stevie P

If you know anything about West Coast battle rap, the name Stevie P commands immediate respect. A true veteran of the Vancouver hip-hop scene, Stevie P has spent over a decade proving why he’s one of the most resilient and sharp-witted lyricists to ever come out of BC.

Stevie P first solidified his footprint on the culture during the early, legendary days of King of the Dot (KOTD), delivering classic, unforgettable clashes like his infamous battle against Reveal. He didn’t just step onto the stage; he helped build the foundation for Vancouver battle rap.

Fast forward to today, and Stevie’s pen is sharper than ever. He continues to anchor the local culture, recently setting the stage on fire under the Set The Bar Entertainment banner—most notably in his absolute clinic of a clash against Toronto’s Bossman in Fully Reloaded, and his tactical display at Eastside Rumble. Known for his heavy-hitting bars, unpredictable flows, and an undeniable stage presence that can control any room, Stevie P represents the raw, authentic essence of underground hip-hop.

Whether he’s trading freestyle cypher verses or standing bar-for-bar in the center of the ring, Stevie P is a certified BC legend who always delivers a masterclass in lyricism.
