The CFMA nominations have just been announced, and Great Gorgons in the sky -
We have FOUR nominations!!! 🤯
Thankyou @canadianfolkmusicawards !!!

1) Oliver Schroer Pushing the boundary Award - this has particular significance as Lea was taught by Oli, Geo’s and Saskia’s families hung out with him and our music is heavily influenced by him.

2) Ensemble of the Year

3) Instrumental Group of the Year

4) Global Roots Album of the Year

Massive congratulations to all the other nominees, whose albums everybody should go check out and put on your playlists. 💿 (also check out the kids nomination that Saskia’s strings are all over @mckhool 😉)

Thankyou so much to @canada.council and @ontarioartscouncil for funding us and making this album possible, and thankyou to @airedalegray who worked his magic with us to produce the album. 🪄

@naghmehfarahmand_ and Elise Boeur @feedbacksolo, your additions to our music took it to another level - Thankyou 🙏🏽

… and we must thank the incredible vision of @czarlibajka in Poland for our stunning artwork!! ✨🎨🖌️

Cape Breton, see you in April 2027! 🎻

What a fantastic journey! So many friends from many different places have come together on this tour. It has been an absolute blessing to be with Medusa Quartet for the past two weeks... and I am proud to have played with them, and proud of how everyone here in our part of the world has welcomed them!

We have agreed to do another tour with Medusa in September 2028 🙌 Let us know if there’s a particular festival or special venue where you’d like to see us perform! ♥️

Sending lots of love to everyone who has helped bring this project to life!

What a magical time we had at the @nac.cna with our partners in witchcraft @turkwaz4 ! ✨🌘

We loved bringing our chamber-folk blend of cross-cultural voices and strings to the stages in Ottawa, and even our resident b*tchmaster was smiling by the end! 😉

Thank you to everyone at the National Arts Centre who made this dream come true - we are so grateful and can’t wait to come back. ❤️

Thank you to @_curtisperry for these incredible photos 🔥

Our new single is out in 2 days. ❤️

Vesnianochka is a Ukrainian spring song featuring the incredible Marichka.

One Polish band. One Ukrainian singer. One old song that still brings people together.

See you Friday at @islandcafeto for the single release show.

Marta telling the audience about her instrument 😂

Have you heard of the Suka from Poland? 🎻

In Medusa, we invite this forgotten fiddle into the string quartet, turning what was once feared and repressed into something fierce and magical. And yes, its name means “b*tch”. 🤘

Should we start a b*tch session at our next festival? 🤔

Let us know in the comments…

Medusa Quartet in Las Vegas, with special guest @samroclark on fiddle - we found Poseidon and cursed him back, walked on pavement hotter than Hades’ hair, brought the fiddles back to the people, and of course found Fabio’s Fables. #ReadingIsImportant

More workshops and shows tomorrow and the next day! 🌞
