One of the best things about this job is that I get to watch other people create art up close and personal - I get to see their state of mind, body language, concentration… whether it’s ink, music or graffiti - it’s always a massive honour that these artists will trust me to stay out of the way but also capture what they do best. I bloody love it. And yes - that is a monopod and yes - it’s still one of the most underrated bits of kit. I love ‘em!

I completely forgot to do a 2025 end-of-year post. But that’s fine because I’ve decided I no longer recognise the Gregorian calendar.

Instead, the new year begins now. The trees are budding, flowers are appearing, and the outside world is starting to wake up again.

2025 was a huge year for me. Towards the end of it things went a bit quiet here because I was busy buying my first house, which turned out to be a full-time job in itself.

A massive thank you to everyone who booked me last year and trusted me with a camera. It genuinely means the world. I’m still very much learning, so everyone who gave me a chance has helped me out tenfold.

In other slightly terrifying news, I’ve also decided to leave my 9–5 job and go all-in on freelance work. Photography is just one of the things I’ll be focusing on, but it will be a big part of that. I’m starting to book shoots again and will be keeping things very affordable for now, roughly around 50% of typical industry rates. I’m also happy to work around people’s budgets.

So if you’d like some photos and also fancy helping me pay my mortgage, please get in touch.

Capturing @martatattoos doing what she does best…again!

I had a slight internal panic when I turned up to her new studio and the day wasn’t quite giving the natural light that we’d hoped for. But that forced me to learn to use the Canon 5D in about 2 hours, and take the plunge into digital photography. And I’m happy with how these came out!
