🥶 9RunRun 10K Race Recap! 🏃‍♀️ COLD. Like, almost-freezing cold! I couldn't decide what to wear, so I even did a quick wardrobe change in the car. Leggings off, shorts on! 😂 The cold itself wasn't too bad, but when you need to pee… let's just say it doesn't help! And I'm definitely not used to these temperatures yet. This straight out-and-back course is usually great for a PB, but I already knew that wasn't happening today. I had absolutely destroyed my legs on Monday, the day after my hilly half marathon PB. Let's just say I had a really bad day and made a choice that hurt me, without thinking about the long term consequences. It is what it is. So, the goal was simple: anything under 50 minutes was acceptable. And surprise! I managed an average pace of 4:49/km and finished in 48:22, taking 🥈 second place in my ancient 😉 age group! Not bad at all! But the real highlight? ❤️ 🏃‍♀️ Mica ran a 48:42 PB and took 🥇 first in her age group! 🏃 Jona ran the 5K in 22:44, finishing 5th in his age group! Having two of my kids running races with me makes me SO happy. I absolutely love it! 🥹❤️ And the running community made the day even better! So many familiar faces, including the Somersault crew. Adam was out there being the BEST cheer squad, JP was around the start and finish, and I spotted so many run club friends. I managed to give Deborah a good luck hug just before the start. Around 3K, she overtook me, we exchanged a power-up fist bump 💪, and she went on to run a PB! HUGE congratulations! 🎉 I knew Guy was there, but somehow we didn't cross paths. Does that mean this race doesn't count? 😂 And of course, I waited for my running friend Marten. He always makes me smile and is such a great support. 😊 All in all, a fantastic, fun race, surrounded by wonderful people, with an absolutely gorgeous medal supporting our emergency services. 🏅❤️ Cold legs, tired legs, happy heart. And two kids making memories with me on the start line. That's a win in my books! 🏃‍♀️❤️ Wearing my Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 🎶 #9RunRun #RunningCommunity #runningmom #shokzstar @shokzcanada @shokzusa

A little fun challenge, and thank goodness the first letter of my name only meant 11 km! 😂🏃‍♀️ I started the morning running with @hull.sunday.run.day alongside my run buddy @lubytes When we got back, I realized I was severely overdressed! 🥵 So, a quick trip to my car to change into a tank top and shorts, and off I went for the last 5 km. It's just so pretty this time of year. 🍂🍁 The perfect weather and beautiful scenery make running even more enjoyable. And when I finally got back to @bobinobagel, my friend was still waiting for me. Thank you, @martenoostrom , for sticking around! 😊❤️ You see, David @la.l.i.f.e , I kept my promise and ran my 11 km! 💪🏃‍♀️ Challenge accepted. Challenge completed. ✔️😎 #running #runningcommunity #runningchallenge

Hull Sunday Run Day with Sina the 5.30 pacer. And today we met Gerrit and it feels like it was ment to be. I decided this morning to wear my bright yellow Xtra Mile Crew shirt what turned out to be great because Gerrit is visually impaired. He trusted us to guide him and I found that so inspiring trusting 2 strangers to guide you on a route you don't know. We managed and it went great! @hull.sunday.run.day we are a very inclusive bunch. As you can see nothing should hold you back to join.
