🇨🇱 Victory at Cowdray in 2026 alongside three Argentine players perpetuates the legacy of the Donosos, a Chilean dynasty that paved the way in the sport. This milestone secures his place in the European equestrian elite and reaffirms his role as a promoter in his native Chile. Yet, the connection transcends the grounds: since 2023, his official residence has been the UK. Driven by family and corporate logic, this move centralises operations within a core financial market.

Born in 1964, the youngest son of Andrónico Luksic and Iris Fontbona shares a fortune valued by Forbes at over US$ 28 billion, which makes them Chile's wealthiest family. The core asset is Antofagasta PLC, which he has chaired since 2004. The family controls 60.6% of the capital. Concurrently, he holds 4.21% via the Aureberg Foundation, raising the total stake to 64.89% and his direct net worth to US$ 1.92 billion.

Under his leadership, bolstered by record commodity prices, the miner doubled in market value after surging 106.22% in 2025 and nearly 4% in 2026. First-half 2025 revenues hit US$ 3.8 billion, a 29% rise, closing the year up 22% overall.

Antofagasta Minerals is targeting regional expansion. Acquiring a 19% stake in Compañía de Minas Buenaventura for over US$ 400 million added US$ 100 million to its EBITDA. It allocates US$ 50 million annually to exploration in Peru and the US. Outside mining, diversification falls under Quiñenco, where he serves as vice-chairman. Valued at US$ 8 billion with an 83% family stake, this holding encompasses assets across banking, beverages, fuel, shipping, and ports.

This corporate trajectory developed alongside his education. After earning a degree from the LSE, he lived in London assisting with his father's business. Following his tenure at BNP Paribas—where he met his British wife, Belinda James—and residencies in Chile and Switzerland, returning to the UK brings together his personal life, competitive sport, and the management of a global conglomerate.
