“blossoming and resonant hues…suspended in the surrounding brightness” by Jeffrey Mumford

An absolute pleasure to premiere Jeffrey’s cello concerto last week in Columbus with @codenewmusic and @cdwestovermaestro ! 🔥

It was an exciting experience to hear the fabulous @codenewmusic bring the orchestral score to life and to discover in real time how the drama of their lines and color interacted with the virtuosic, expressive cello “protagonist” as Jeffrey put it…

Thank you especially to @michaelrenetorres , Zoe and Jack from the @johnstonefund and Vice Provost from the Arts, Lisa Florman from @theohiostateuniversity for your belief in the arts and new music and bringing this project to life!

Sewanee Summer Music Festival has come to an end😞

It was so amazing to meet all these wonderful, hardworking, and talented people. Each and every person that I performed, rehearsed, and had multiple sweet treats with made this festival feel so special to me. I'm immensely greatful to have had this experience. I definitely made lots of core memories here and can't wait till I see these amazing people again!!

Week III part I of Sewanee Summer Music Festival in the book: daily hiking, showing mother around, admiring the bells and weekly studio activity, new friends, boy night out (girl night out?), Asian table, and last minute substitute for the Dvorak Piano Quintet.

Week II of the Sewanee Summer Music Festival: the big violin family, my farewell debut of the Richard Strauss Sonata with colleague on electric keyboard, hikes with early birds, mom’s appreciation of nature, colleagues and friends, state-to-art listening experience, poisonous drink, and all that jazz!
