Chicago Courier Classic
-
Back in May, I tagged along @andrewstojkovich covering the @chicagocourierclassic and bike messenger culture.

Tomorrow, July 25, @martpigeons is hosting the “Billy Brown Benefit Bash” to support Bill Brown (slide 8) after he was struck via a road rage incident two days after the Chicago Courier Classic.

Alright, you know we have a prize for the Triple B (Billy Brown Benefit) next weekend...

From Bill himself, a Bagaboo bags sling bag. Bill copped this before his accident and doubts he'll want a sling on his back again after this one. Yes, it comes with the swag in the picture.

We will see you next Saturday at Eckhart and on the south side. Rubber side down, come get you a new bag filled with posi vibes.

Billy for a long time has been integral in the proliferation of alley cat races and the messenger scene at large, as well as a huge proponent of bike culture and supporting couriers. He got struck by a car and broke his collar bone recently, rendering him unable to ride and deliver. Let's help this righteous dude out while also having a sick party and reconvening the CCC peeps!

Finally getting around to making my @chicagocourierclassic post! It was a truly magical weekend of bikes and debauchery, all made possible by the amazing lil community we have here! There's a bazillion folks I wanna thank; all the out of towners who made it out (missing work and the expenses of travel can be rough, so it means a lot to make those sacrifices to come and hang out with us!) all the awesome checkpoint workers, everyone that helped with running/decorating Mess Prom, our photographers who captured it all, our sponsors who hooked it up with some sick ass prizes and also all the folks who came just to hang out and spectate and make it all feel more alive! Many thanks as well to @chicagobikepolo for letting us use their court for Messenger Olympics!

I'm so proud of all my fellow organizers, ya'll put an ungodly amount of blood, sweat, love, and tears into every lil part of this whole thing, and it showed. I wanna write out a thank you/tag all ya'll, but this is already getting way too long lol. Super excited to do it all again with ya'll next year!!! 🥰💕 Photo shared by Violet on May 31, 2026 tagging @martpigeons, and @chicagocourierclassic. May be an image of bicycle, helmet and text.
