Serving as Vice President of Membership I had the opportunity to watch the people I love share with others what makes our chapter so special, and to welcome new women into a place that has given me so much. I realized that recruitment was never really about saying all the right things or having everything perfectly planned. It was about people. It was about making someone feel seen, loved, and wanted for exactly who they are.
More than anything, this position has humbled me before the Lord in a way I have never experienced before. There were so many moments when I was reminded that I could not do this on my own. I didn’t always have the right answer, I couldn’t control every outcome, and despite all of my planning, things didn’t always go the way I thought they should. Again and again, I had to loosen my grip and trust Him. And every single time, His grace met me there. I have been so humbled by the fact that the Lord allowed me to serve in this position at all. He took my imperfect efforts, my worries, my mistakes, and the moments when I felt like I wasn’t enough, and still used them for something so much greater than me. This role taught me that leadership isn’t about being the most capable person in the room, it’s about being willing to serve, willing to learn, and willing to let the Lord work through you. Everything I have done through this position has only been possible because of His grace, and it all is for his Glory!!!
Thank you to my recruitment team & chapter for trusting me, encouraging me, showing up for me, listening to me, and believing in me. Thank you for letting me teach you, but even more, thank you for everything you taught me. I came into this role hoping I could leave even the smallest impact on this chapter, but in the end, this chapter and this position changed me far more than I ever could have changed them. It brought me to my knees, taught me to surrender what I could not control, and showed me just how sufficient the Lord’s grace truly is. Because of you, Theta, I am changed for better—changed For Good.
