The last days of 2024 and first days of 2025.

My favorite time of year.

A time to enjoy all of the intention that you have poured into your life over the last 10 years.

To celebrate and enjoy the life you’ve created.

The research says that we overestimate what we can do in 1 year.

And underestimate what we can do in 10.

Standing on this threshold of endings and new beginnings, I feel the immensity of what living intentionally has created in my life these last 20 years.

Like that moment when you notice the impact of compound interest in your bank account.

The same thing is true in your mental, emotional and spiritual bank accounts.

Intentional choices in every aspect of your life and relationships compound.

When I look at these photos from this past week, that’s what I see.

How love has compounded in my life by living this way.

And how that compound interest will continue to support us moving forward no matter what unexpected tragedies happen this year - which they already have.

🥺The sad and tragic planned event in New Orleans which has killed 15 people.
🥺 The death of a friend’s mother.
🥺 The Dawgs loss.

Life doesn’t stop.

Which is why doubling down on loving what we have today is the only way I have figured out how to face it all.

When Turner came to bed early New Year’s morning, he gave me a hug and told me how much he loved me.

Then, he whispered in my ear, “You know 2025 is going to be hard, too.”

I responded, “I know,” comforted by all of the deposits I’ve made in living an intentional life over these last 20 years.

I know that I’m up for doubling down on living this life.

As Memorial Day Weekend comes to a close, we enjoy a meal together and remember those who fought for the freedoms we experience today.

While Brennan cooked, I took a trip down memory lane of his 2012 Make-a-Wish trip to Normandy.

The first video is of a F22 fighter jet at yesterday’s Air Show.

The last video is Brennan participating in the flag ceremony with a group of wounded warriors at Coleville Cemetery.

Finishing off the evening with one of our several annual Band of Brothers marathons.

Something to leave in the past: People you have to harden your heart to be around.

As you get deeper into midlife, you are going to bump up against this reality:

There are friends who you hang out with that you realize make you feel like poo 💩

This 💯 happened to me.

I found myself preparing for our time together.

Which added to the invisible and emotional load that I was already carrying for my family.

Here’s the deal.

Your soul is begyou to raise your standards
when it comes with the people you hang with.

Your soul cannot take being crushed any longer.

Your soul needs nourishment, just like your body does.

I love what @haileypaigemagee says about this:

“Stop choosing people you have to harden your heart around.

Choose people who bring out your gentleness.
Who find beauty in your softness.

Who make you feel safe enough to lay down your armor and be exactly as you are.”

As we continue this week’s theme of leaving things behind and moving forward in your future, this is one of those places.

I do this by blessing the friendship and every thing it has meant to me in my life, including the challenging parts.

Because the challenge is actually your soul telling you that it is time to complete the part of your Soul contract with this person and to find the souls who are a perfect fit for you.

How will you know when you find them?

They will be easy to be around.

You will light up when you are with them.

But constantly wondering what went wrong in the other relationship is getting in the way of you finding your peeps for this new season.

And you aren’t getting any younger, Babe.

Seriously.

As you hit midlife, time is of the essence, my friend.

The TR factor is real.

So go out there.

Bless that old relationship and find the ones waiting to make you shine!
