This has been a bucket list item for me since I was a kid. I’ve never been much of a runner. To be able to run 26 miles is a true testament to mind over matter.
Austin was a physical and mental grind of a course. So many hills.

Life has been BUSY — but in the best way. ✨

Attended my first San Antonio Spurs game ever and had the BEST time. Even with a 5 hr delay. Let it be known: I will always make friends wherever I go. A blessing and a curse. 🙈🫰🏽🏀
Thank you @caitlin_stehling for letting me tag along!

Mom & Dad got a little date night in. 😍 We’ll take it.

Celebrated my girl’s BIRTHDAY 🎉
@ydubz10 and I have known each other since 2017 — and it’s wild to see where life has taken us. From parties. Travel. Babies. New careers and our Health & fitness journeys. Can’t wait to see what more life has in store for us. 🤍

Our sweet Eleanor turned FOUR. 🩰✨
Time really does fly. She is one of the sassiest, most independent girls you’ll ever meet. She loves ballet, pasta, and her two besties Eliza & Ruby. And somehow we’re registering for Pre-K this year?! Thank you to everyone who helped make her feel so special! Wish i could of gotten more photos. We love all of you.

In the past two weeks Archie has had pink eye, bronchitis, RSV, and an ear infection… send help. 😅 Thankfully we’re finally on the mend. ❤️‍🩹

I ran my second half marathon — and whew, those rolling hills humbled me. 🥵 But I crossed that finish line, and I’m so proud of myself and my run team. & to my hubs for toting our kids out & cheering me on Running really is more fun with your people. 🫰🏽KUDOS to Taylor, Mary, & Keith on kicking ass on the full marathon & Caitlin with her first half! We did it.

Also… I won the most delicious cookie cups from @lewiscookiecompany 🍪 Madison was amazing — go follow & support local!

Grateful. Tired. Blessed.✌🏽

Where to begin…

If you asked me 4 months ago to run a mile, the answer was no. Now I just finished my first half marathon. Insane.

To the sport of running, thank you. There are no words to describe the ways in which I have grown through the mental and physical challenges that have pushed me to be a better version of myself with every single stride. Through the hours of training that led to this day, it has been a roller coaster but I can confidently say I’ve come out on top.

To @jeannejagneaux special thank you for never giving up on inviting me to run even after years of rejected invites lol. You are such a badass and an inspiration to keep pushing myself in every facet. I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to beep bop around Austin in your dust trail today😮‍💨😉

To every single person who sent a text, left a voice note, traveled to support in person, or cheered me on from wherever you may be - from the bottom of my heart thank you. It meant the absolute world to me. Through the most challenging moments of the race, your words of encouragement and belief in me kept me going.

Finally, thank you God. “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” You protected me, carried me, and gave me strength when I couldn’t find it myself. I am grateful for this journey that has brought me even closer to you.

This course was challenging. The hills were brutal. And it definitely did not end the way I wanted. I missed the split and went the route of the full marathon instead of the half. The signage at the split was poor after basically blacking out finishing the mile 12 hill. I didn’t realize until I was over 13.1 miles and didn’t see a finish line in sight...Thankfully I wasn’t a lone runner in this mistake. I walked (my legs were cooked) back over to the half marathon course and finished out the last 0.3 miles with everything I had left in me. No matter the time on the record, I finished and that’s more than I can say I thought I would ever do at one point in time.

Always remember YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS.

This is not the end, only the beginning.
