If your engagement photos feel more like a date night than a photoshoot... we’re probably doing something right. 🥹

These two weren’t quite sure where they wanted to go for their session (being all the way from Watford & myself in Bismarck — we wanted to pick a good meeting point between), so after talking through a few ideas, we decided to wander around Medora before ending the evening at the Painted Canyon overlook. Safe to say... it was the right call. 👌

Between hearing them tell the story of how they met (which, by the way... started with him noticing the “cool girl playing bass” at church 🥹), laughing together, and wandering around the Badlands, it honestly just felt like spending an evening with new friends.

And that’s the best part.

You don’t have to have every little detail figured out beforehand. Sometimes the best moments come from simply showing up, slowing down, and enjoying the person you’re doing life with. 🤍

Maybe that’s why the best don’t really feel like a “session” at all... they just feel like time well spent together.

Now I’m curious… would YOU drive almost two hours for photos in the Badlands? 👀 Personally, I think it’s pretty hard to beat here in ND.

The Lord is so good and so gracious to us. Looking back on this year, I’m truly in awe of all He has done. My heart is so full. I’m grateful to serve a God who is endlessly merciful and unfailingly loving. His mercy has carried me, and His love has surrounded me in every season. I am so undeserving of it—I fall short, but His love never does.

God has blessed me with so many people and gifts in my life, and I cannot thank Him enough: my amazing family, my cousins, my job, my grandparents, my siblings who I’m so proud of, my loving parents, my godly friends who have encouraged me, prayed for me and walked with me through everything, my boyfriend and his precious family, I’m so thankful for my dogs (my best friends), the gift of the Bible, my church and church family, and the honor of worshipping Jesus freely. I wouldn’t change a single thing about my life. God has been so faithful. I will never, ever take this life for granted.

All glory belongs to Him- today, tomorrow and forever
