Day 3 of the 99th National FFA Convention!💛💙 Tuesday was our first full day in Indy, and we spent the day visiting a local honey farm, the National FFA Headquarters, and the Indiana Speedway! At Hunters Honey Farm we got to see how the honey making process works, hold a frame of bees, taste test honey, and bottle our own! Our next stop was our final visit to Culver’s on our way to the National FFA Headquarters where we got to read about FFA’s history! Finally we went on the Indiana Speedway Kiss the Bricks tour where we rode on the track and kissed the bricks! We ended the night with dinner as a group at Buca-Di-Beppo! #ffa26

The 99th National FFA Convention - I’m so thankful for this opportunity to have been put on the Dairy Evaluation team!

My team and I placed silver and I placed silver individually! I guess horse girls can know a few things about dairy cows. It was also such a memorable experience to have that as my last competition experience.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Appleby for giving me this opportunity and teaching me what I needed to know.

Along the way we stopped at so many cool places. From Hunters Honey Farm to the Indianapolis Speedway.

Thank you Jesus for these opportunities and for agriculture. In every single experience, His faithfulness and grace are so present. With thousands of members present He still calls me by name. His plans are always working. I know who I am because I know Him.

“So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.” - 1 Corinthians 3:7

National FFA Convention Day 4 💙💛

American Degree Ceremony! Congratulations to Scarlett Heffner and Larissa Medina for earning their American Degrees! ⭐️

The American Degree is the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization, the American FFA Degree shows an FFA member’s dedication to his or her chapter and state FFA association. It demonstrates the effort FFA members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they exhibited through their FFA career.

Fun Fact! ONLY 9 previous Hereford FFA Members have received this honor. The first being in 1969 and last being nearly 10 years ago in 2017. 🤩

Day 1 of the 99th National FFA Convention!💛💙 Sunday morning the Catoctin and Walkersvile FFA chapters met at Catoctin High School and set off for Indianapolis, with a few stops on the way! We started off with lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings in West Virginia, and then headed to the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum! We took a historic tour of the insane asylum, where we admired the architecture and learned about how it previously operated. Finally, we ended the day with dinner at Cracker Barrel, and spent the night in Ohio! #ffa26

National Convention Awards! 💙💛🏆

Join us in celebrating our Meat Evaluation Team & Prepared Public Speaker on their Bronze placings in their respective CDE & LDE events.

Words of Wisdom that are sticking with us this week…

✨ “You chose to show up and that matters.”

✨ “Trust the plan enough to walk in it.”

✨ “Surround yourself with people who make you better. Who challenge you.”

✨ “Volunteer yourself to show up.”

✨ “Do hard things.”

✨ “WORK until your dreams come true.”

✨ “The process is the point.”

✨ “Make it a habit. That’s how your achieve excellence”

These members showed up, worked hard and that in itself is excellence…that process IS the point! Congratulations to all and thank you for proudly representing Hereford and Maryland FFA!

We came to the National FFA Convention to make connections, meet FFA members from across the country, and share how raising a future service dog for a Veteran can be part of an SAE.

Ita, on the other hand, was pretty sure the whole convention was about HER.

Between all the pets, pictures, and new friends, she may have had a point!

But while Ita was busy soaking up the attention, we were having some great conversations about WCC, our Veterans, and how FFA students can make a difference by helping raise the next generation of service dogs. 💙

Blue jackets, wagging tails, and new friends from all over the country! 🇺🇸

Ita and Evie have been having the best time at the National FFA Convention! We've loved meeting so many FFA members, hearing about their chapters, and sharing how raising a future service dog for a Veteran can also be an FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE)!

It's been so much fun seeing where everyone is from, and Ita and Evie certainly aren't complaining about all the attention! 🐾💙

More than a classroom pet! 🐾🍎

We had so much fun presenting to educators at the National FFA Convention and sharing how teachers can bring a future service dog into their classrooms!

Imagine a classroom where students aren't just learning about responsibility, compassion, and service. They're living it every day!

By raising a future service dog with Warrior Canine Connection, teachers and students can be part of something much bigger, helping prepare a dog that may one day change a Veteran's life. 💙🐾

Now THAT'S a lesson that goes beyond the classroom!
