Happy days 🐾🏔️

Being in a snowstorm in the mountains makes you feel humble and respect mother nature 💨

It is hard work to take care of yourself in this kind of weather. To get water 700 m from the cabin, to chop lots of wood and even to go to the toilet. Also to change plans and being stuck in a cabin for 2 days and 2 nights is not something you wish when you come here for a holiday... Still it is an impressive happening to be part of.

Of course we also need to take care or our superstars 🐾They need to go through every second of the storm outside and looking at them from inside can break your heart a bit, even if we do everything we can to make it as comfortable for them as possible.
The dogs wear jackets to protect them and to keep them warm. Because the storm lasted for quite some time we build serious bunkers from snow so they could be wind protected. Also feeding is a challenge if the food flies everywhere instead of in the bowl when you are not careful and we had to hold the bowls when the dogs are eating.
We also had to go out every 2-3 hours during the worst of the storm, to dig out the dogs from under the snow, to take ice from the velcro of the dogjackets and of course to give them cuddles and to comfort them.

It wasn't very cold luckily and even though it was a bit stressfull for the younger ones, most of the dogs just curled up behind the snow walls and sat it out. Did I mention already how amazing they are 😍

One of the last days in the mountains, and for sure the day that will fill the photo album of our guests so it looks like we always had nice weather 😆
Sunshine, crispy cold weather and no wind. But best of all: a route that made us pinch ourselves around every corner 🏔️

It started with an early morning descent from the Tjaktja pass (1+2), then the climb into the Nallo valley (3). We continued our workout and made our own trails towards Unna Raita (4+5), where we had a break with a breathtaking view (6). Well worth the effort! Then a nice going down in the Nallo valley (7+8) from where we continued towards Vistas (9+10). Here we spend our last night in the mountains.

This route was on the wishlist for both me and the (returning) guests, but the conditions didn't make it possible in the last years. To do this in this kind weather was a dream come true 🙏♥️☀️

Back from another week trip in the mountains. Even if it always goes different than planned, it never disappoints! And again the dogs did amazing through snowstorms, over ice and through deep snow so that we could discover this magical place 🏔️🙏

Lost in the sea? No, kind of lost the sea. Riva Aquarama caught in low tide in Westerschelde, Netherlands.
