Walking into Jamhuri on the 18th of January felt like an ordinary day—yet it carried extraordinary dreams. A simple mission: to audition the boys.

Through thick and thin, we poured into them—time, energy, belief—and they gave it right back, with heart, discipline, and fire. Watching them rise and claim their win filled me with so much joy.

And as for the Best Choreographer award… this was never a solo journey. 20+ years of creating, dreaming, failing, rising, and refining—side by side with my partner in crime, @masambaya . My yin to my yang ☯️. This win is ours.

Look at us… dreamers.
And now, we’re heading to Nationals in Nyeri. 🚀✨

This win is ours.

Today, we celebrate the journey, the brotherhood, and the art that continues to shape us. 🌟

As I reflect on the past four years, the genesis of Twende began with a conversation in February 2019 with @masambaya , a moment etched in time as we marked our calendar for the inaugural recording at @wexmedia . I take immense pride in having engineered most of the songs, working tirelessly alongside the talented @masindefrancis and with invaluable assistance from @mental_era .

This album is more than a collection of songs; it's a manifestation of our journey, encapsulating the growth and values we hold dear. The involvement of our members in the composition process speaks volumes about our collective progress.

Amidst the challenges posed by the relentless COVID-19 pandemic, we stood undeterred, keeping the creative flame burning & propelling the production forward. A pivotal chapter unfolded when @phredleybrown contributed his brilliance to three of our songs. Spending seven days in the studio with him in Los Angeles was a profound learning experience—an encounter with a true musical genius.

@tenorsmusic generously gifted us "Hallelujah" for the album, and @mancini_music , their producer, lent his expertise to produce "Luku Luku Telo"—my sincere thanks to him.

Our paths serendipitously crossed with Grammy-nominated producer Jon Cohen, who breathed life into our project, elevating it to new heights & guiding it to completion. Gratitude is an understatement for this transformative collaboration.

A special acknowledgment goes to @timdebny of @fluidmastering for his exceptional mastering, adding the finishing touch to our musical tapestry.

Huge gratitude to @nativenairobi for designing the album art, bringing the visual idea of the album to life & adding an extra layer of depth to our creative expression.

The launch of this album was made possible by the unwavering support of @tribehotel , @deckplann, and Event series. To our invited guests and those who joined us online, I extend my heartfelt thanks for making this momentous occasion even more memorable.

Lastly, to the phenomenal members of the @boyschoirkenya —your brotherhood and resilience are the pillars of our collective journey. Lets continue to forge ahead and grow together. Twende all the way!🚀
