I do not know which is more exciting for me. The anticipation of walking into The Frame Shop to begin the selection to frame a piece I’ve spent weeks/months working on. Or, returning to see the finished product.
All I can say is I’m never disappointed.

The caliber of creativity and professionalism is unmatched. They have framed family portraits, senior portraits, wedding pictures and now my quiet little hobby. Every project is a piece of art.

The two newest pieces:

I have been led down Gingerbread Lane. It all started with Episode 88 with Katie Strachan and her start of the Stacy Nash Gingerbread Sewing Book. I loved her conversion and watched in amazement as she did so many variations on it. I quickly purchased Bijoux, Accentuate, Surfine, Gobelins, Miyuki bugle beads, etc.
Then I had to wait a full year for last years’ Jingle Ball to get the chart. And everything else Stacy Nash released.
Then who comes into the FlossTube world but Lisa and her gingerbread mania. Well, that put me into full blown Gingerbread Village! And every village needs trees! Well, now I need green linen. And newer houses! A Cape Cod Crosshatch and Single Family Sawtooth. More gingerbread looking linen.
I am set for my Christmas stitching this year. I can picture the vignette in my head.

I have another finish. After the tumultuous journey of my last project , I knew I needed time to regroup and heal. And I needed almost instant gratification. So I picked another quick stitch to soothe a weary soul.

There is regeneration to my soul during the process of a good stitch. The rhythmic counting allows for conversations to occur with Our Lord. One stitch after another accompanied by “What do You need me to do? XXXXX How do You want me to respond? XXXXXX What is my mission? XXXXX What am I to learn? XXXX I don’t think I’m strong enough for this? XXXXX”

While my soul needs quiet; my hands need beauty.

Second finish in two days! This is Elizabeth Duff Kirton 1873 by @handsacrosstheseasamplers. Stitched on 40ct Antique Button linen by @masonlinens with Soie D’Alger silk floss. Trying to get things finished so I can liberate all the floss. 😁. #crossstitch
