Three Years of Loving You 🤍

Three years have gone by, and you’re still the sweet, silly, loving guy that I fell in love with on a random Friday night in September. We’ve learned to support, forgive, and grow together, and I’m so thankful for the way you make me better every day.

I still think about the night you texted me on Instagram, telling me “Hey, you’re really pretty! :)” as I was on my way to a volleyball game. The way my heart immediately fluttered with excitement, as I had no idea how to respond.

To our first official date at a pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins on your birthday, our first homecoming together, we had so many firsts, and it had been barely 2 months. I knew even then that I had wanted to spend forever with you.

Supporting me in travel volleyball, watching me win a pageant that I had no intent of doing in the first place, but you pushed me because you knew how upset I’d be if I missed out on that opportunity. Our first-ever prom, and oh, did we look fabulous!

Then comes July, and it’s our first beach vacation together. My Florida family fell in love with you. “Oh my, he’s good-lookin.” I know it, he’s pretty handsome! A new school year comes around, and we repeat the cycle.

Anytime the cooler months roll around, it reminds me of the beginning of our story. It reminds me how shy we used to be around each other’s families. Blue jeans and matching letterman jackets, so sweet.

Your patience, your goofy jokes, and the way you always show up for me. Late nights, our first concert together, or the first time we said ‘I love you.’

I wouldn’t want to redo these years with anyone else, and I couldn’t be happier with where we are right now, together. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come and how much we’ve grown in the past 3 years. Wherever the Lord takes us next, I know we’ll be side by side. To many, many more anniversaries with you, Mason Gray!
