It’s hard to find words for people who meant so much.

My Pepapa and Memama were the kind of people who made everyone feel loved, welcomed, and at home. They built a beautiful life together, and their love reached far beyond themselves—it shaped generations.

This weekend, after losing my Pepapa, we walked through the home they filled with so much life. A house that held my childhood summers, my wedding day, the summer I lived with them, Christmas cookie days, fried chicken and gizzard dinners with my Memama cooking on the back porch with her apron, birthday dinners, my first car accident where my Pepapa picked me up and took me there, Christmas breakfast and riding in Santa’s sleigh, root beer float nights, late talks, nail days, movie nights, hair days, holiday gatherings, countless memories, and the first moments my boys met their great-grandparents.

Hearing their voices again through old voicemails was a gift I didn’t know I needed. For a moment, it felt like they were still there.

The house will always be special, but it was never the walls that made it home. It was them.

Forever grateful for the love they gave, the memories they left behind, and the legacy that lives on in all of us. 🤍 I love you Memama and Pepapa ❤️
