ORTHODONTICS IN A REDUCED PERIODONTIUM
3D diagnosis and biomechanical planning allow each tooth movement to be approached with consideration for the remaining periodontal support and the relationship between the teeth and their supporting bone.
🔹 Bone remodeling is a coordinated biological response involving the osteocyte network, which detects mechanical stimuli and transmits signals that regulate bone adaptation.
🔹 Skeletal anchorage with miniplates allows controlled force application while reducing anchorage demands on teeth with diminished support. Biomechanics must be adapted to each patient’s periodontal condition.
In this case, involving a reduced but stabilized periodontium, periodontal monitoring continued throughout orthodontic treatment. Progress to the current stage shows improvements in midline correction and control of tooth inclinations, alongside clinical improvements in gingival health.
Diagnosis, periodontal control, and individualized biomechanics: three pillars of the same treatment.

Stratification: Superficial: G-aenial A’Chord A2

Why did I have to write stratification 3 times? Question of the hour.

Case; 60s female

The power of the digital workflow in dental implants lies in its ability to enhance precision, efficiency, and patient outcomes through advanced technology.
Implant position and GBR strategy aligns with the final prosthetic design, optimizing aesthetics and function.
Wide range 3DCT anatomical image enable us to simulate modification of occlusal plane for better oral function.

For surgical planning, CT DICOM data for 3 dimensional bone and teeth image and STL data for 3D intraoral image were marged. Surgical guide was made with 3D printer for accurate implant placement.

All restorable teeth were preserved as much as possible. After treatment, Anterior esthetics was improved as well as in overall oral function through stabilization of the occlusal relationship. The patient expressed a high level of satisfaction with both the esthetic and functional outcomes.
