Jonato Dalayoan > Visual Art

Celebrating my 49th bday last week gave me an opportunity to reflect on the past years. Lots of good and bad but blessed either way. When I started this journey to pursue a business of being an independent Graphic Designer, it was always part of the plan to also pursue by dreams of being a visual artist. It’s been and interesting journey sitting in between the two disciplines, but in so many ways they both feed off of each other and help me grow. I take pride in my versatility and the path I’ve paved for myself with the help of my faith and others that appreciate and support my work. I’m in the business of communication and understand the responsibility I have and am conscious of the work I put out there. I am firm believe of purpose and my work goes beyond me. It is for the people and that will always be the catalyst for my work.

I realized after 8 years of pursuing my solo journey and craft, I have shared over 50 visual art pieces with the public and it kind of blew my mind. That said, I feel like I’m just getting started to be honest. I also know that I didn’t get here on my own and can’t tell you how grateful I am to all those who supported me and provided the opportunity and a platform to share my work. There were not alot of Filipino artists I knew of growing up, so to be part of the growth and representing artists in my community means alot. So Thank you/Salamat to all of you that opened the door when I knocked, gave me the time to share my vision and helped me see it through. You were a huge part of my mission to contribute to the positive growth of our community. And to my fam… these pieces are as much yours as they are mine. Love and respect.❤️

So for those young or old designers, artists, makers, crafters, writers, dancers, performers, inventors, visionaries, educators, anyone that creates, don’t take your gifts for granted. Find your purpose and share your gift with the world. I always think about how much better the world would be if everyone did.

More to come!
