YYC Ice Cream Fest brought some seriously sweet competition to Calgary this year. From creative flavours to can’t-stop-thinking-about-it scoops, you tasted, voted, and showed our local ice cream makers lots of love.

It's YYC Icecream Fest time and it's on for a few more days, until August 16 so make sure you give one or a few a try - all entries support Meals on Wheels and everything I tried was delicious (there is so many more entries than places I can stop at!)
Here's what I tried:
-@lics.ca Dubai Ice Cream Taco & Cookies & Cream Ice Cream Taco - we had both and they were delicious and fun!
-@byollia Rocky Road Macaron - I love that Ollia gives us a macaron every year and they are always so tasty!
-@master_chocolat Hot Fudge Blackberry Crumble - this is actually only half the dessert (they very kindly divided it up so we could fill up with more!) And the chocolate fudge sauce and toppings were so good!
-@choux.and.c The Breizh Shake - this one is a buckwheat gelato shake and while that sounds weird, it was surprisingly good and I loved how unique it was!
-@tatstreats_ When Pebbles Met Bamm-Bamm - fruity pebbles in cereal milk soft serve, I'm sold! Also, this whole shop is cereal milk icecream with add ins and everything sounds delicious!
-@apprenticecafe Oreo Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwich - this icecream was delicious and a homemade cookie, they even had a gluten free version if needed too!

With 27 stops✨, you’ll have tons of reasons to keep going to @visitmardaloop to check off your passport! I had so much fun seeing all the new (to me) shops 🛍️ and eating 🍽️and drinking 🍹my way through the neighborhood. Find the passport on the Marda Loop BIA website, register once and then start scanning 📱 as you visit each restaurant, shop and local business. If you can get to all 27, you’ll be entered into a draw for the grand prize of a $1000 Marda Loop gift card.

You can complete the passport anytime but I highly recommend visiting during the Social Sunday patio events coming up on August 23 and September 6 so you can enjoy live music, special promotions and collect your passport stamps at the same time time. You have until September 30 to complete your Marda Loop passport. Good luck!
