Quick stop into the Exeter Hotel before dinner for an ice-cold Coopers Pale Ale poured into a properly frosted glass. Sat outside in the afternoon sun with the lovely company of Jess @jessdukkers from Tasting Australia, soaking up the atmosphere of this classic Aussie pub. One of those places with a great local buzz and exactly the right energy for a pre-dinner beer.

Only after we’d left did I hear a little something about a few other things hiding on the menu… but more on that later in the trip.

First meal back in Adelaide — and this time with a couple of the guys from Punk Royale experiencing Australia for the very first time.

On recommendation, we headed to Ming’s Palace @mings.palace for the famous fortune chicken and crispy duck. But as we walked into a bustling, packed dining room, the first thing we were told was: no chicken, no duck.

Still, we were hungry — so we sat down anyway and ordered the classics.

Salt and pepper squid, icy cold Cooper’s Pale Ale, sweet and sour pork, beef in black bean sauce… and of course finishing with the deep-fried ice cream drowned in caramel sauce.

Perfect landing. Full tummies. Straight into Adelaide mode.
