🇹🇹 Big respect to Starblack66 on TikTok for this powerful message! 💯👏🏽
This is exactly the kind of thinking I believe Trinidad and Tobago needs. Our African and Indian heritage should be celebrated, not used to divide us. Both communities have contributed tremendously to building this nation, and neither should have to diminish the other's history or achievements to succeed. Our strength lies in respecting our differences and moving forward together. 🤝🏽🇹🇹
I also believe in respecting people's democratic choices. As a person of African descent, supporting a political party led by someone of Indian descent does not make me a sellout or any less proud of my heritage. I choose based on my principles, not race or historical party loyalty.
No political party gets everything right. Governments inherit challenges, and sometimes difficult decisions must be made for what they believe is the greater good. I may not agree with every decision, but I also try to understand the bigger picture before passing judgment. And just because I don't condemn something that others are unhappy about doesn't mean my views deserve less respect.
We can disagree politically without becoming enemies. We can honour our history without remaining prisoners of it. And we can celebrate our differences without allowing them to divide us. ❤️🇹🇹
Different races, different opinions, but ONE Trinidad and Tobago! 🇹🇹💯
