More tours. More hungry people. More Stillwater to show off. ❤️

Work hard, play harder! 🚤✨

During the peak of our busy season, getting the whole team together for a full day is a rare treat. Yesterday, the Cari Ann Carter Group stepped away from our calendars to soak up absolute perfection on the St. Croix River!

From cruising the gorgeous waters and swimming to catching up and laughing together, days like this remind us why we love what we do.

🥐 Fuel for the day: Picked up delicious local treats from Mon Petit Cheri in Stillwater.

🍽️ The wrap-up: Delicious dinner and drinks at Matchstick to close out an unforgettable day.

We are so endlessly proud of and thankful for this incredible group of humans. Cheers to making the absolute most of these final weeks of summer! 🥂☀️

We eat a LOT of food around here, so consider this your bestie-approved Stillwater order list:

🍝 Gio’s - Fried tortellini with house-made marinara + Alfredo. Get both sauces. Trust us.

🌮 Lolito - Fried chicken tacos made with rice flour and completely GF!

🐟 Feller - Pecan Walleye over sweet corn risotto with lemon sumac foam.

🍿 Candyland - Chicago Mix. A Stillwater classic for a reason.

🔥 Matchstick - Crab cakes + cauliflower fritters = yes to both.

🌶️ QuickFire - Peppadew Poppers. Not something you see every day - and a MUST eat when you’re here.

🍕 MELT - Dream Team: literally some of the best pizza in the WORLD. Look it up.

🍦 Gloria’s - Classic twist, because not all soft serve is created equal.

🥩 Mad Capper - Steak Brussels Bowl. One of our absolute favorites!

🦞 Rio 1854 - Lomo Saltado + Lobster Mac & Cheese. Get both. Share everything.

🍓 Sticks - Let’s Go Party strawberry lemonade pop, made with freshly squeezed lemons!

🥧 Sara’s Tipsy Pies - Boozy Blueberry Lemon Hand Pie. Off the beaten path + worth the hike.

🌭 Stillwater Proper - Proper Joe Hot Dog. Yes, hot dog! You’ll regret not trying this one.

🥩 Domacin - Beef tenderloin. They know what they’re doing when it comes to upscale.

Okay, Stillwater foodies — what did we miss?! 👇

Last night, we got to sit in a room with Philip Sheppard —

If you don’t know Philip, he is a virtuoso cellist and composer whose work has scored more than 60 films, TV series and video games, from Emmy-
nominated documentaries to the Star Wars Force Awakens trailer, and who has led the music for the world stage — the Beijing Olympics closing ceremony, the London Olympics anthems, the Tour de France. And there we were, in Stillwater, watching that same artistry fill an intimate room.

We gathered at the Rivertown Inn, this gorgeous 1884 lumber baron mansion with ten fireplaces and a hundred years of stories in its floorboards, and Philip’s cello just took over the space. There’s something about hearing an artist of that caliber up close, no stage between you, that you can’t get any other way. The room went completely still. You could feel every note in your chest.

Afterward, a few of us wandered down into downtown Stillwater for dinner at Matchstick — candlelight, incredible food, and conversation that kept circling back to the performance we’d just witnessed. That’s the magic of a night like this. It doesn’t end when the music stops. It follows you to the table.
Grateful beyond words for Philip Sheppard, for this river town I love so much, and for an evening that reminded me why I fell for Stillwater in the first place.

If you ever get the chance to hear Philip play in person — take it.
