@ttusongwriting Summer Reunion Series #6
This one’s extra special to me because it’s about two of my dreams coming true! 🤗

Dream #1: having a TA - ideally, a TA with skills and experience in commercial music. Thanks to @sgbrinker and @ttuschoolofmusic , I now have the best TA in the world 💕

@dickensahabwe can play any instrument, sing, rap, produce, teach, mentor, encourage; you name it, Dickens can do it. And it’s in large part due to his talent that my second dream came to fruition! 🌟

Dream #2: hosting a jam session where @texastech students could meet fellow musicians and experience the unparalleled magic of making music in a room with other people 🎶

Dickens and I held our first TTU Jam Session in September 2025, and we were off to the races! As the year went on, more and more students attended, built their skills, and found a musical home 😃

Dickens’s warmth, enthusiasm, and improvisatory & technological skills make him a jam leader par excellence. Can’t wait to start back up in the fall!💥

Meanwhile, enjoy this look back at the inaugural TTU Jam Session, where Dickens taught us a song playing the adungu, an instrument from his native Uganda 😊

Pictures from my capstone performance from almost a month ago!! I’m very late posting these lol this past month has been a whirlwind with graduation, moving out of the dorms, settling into my new apartment in Lubbock, and starting two new part time jobs, so I’m just now getting around to sharing them.

Looking back at these photos makes me emotional. This night meant so much to me.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported. Seeing so many friends, family, Raider Catholic friends, professors, and familiar faces in one room was really special, and something I won’t forget. Thank you to everyone who helped with video, sound, and everything behind the scenes to make it happen.

Thank you to the Bees for playing with me and bringing these songs to life. It was such a gift getting to share the stage with y’all.

I’m especially grateful to God for carrying me through this season and for letting me still be here, still creating, and still sharing music. There were a lot of moments I never thought I’d reach, so this night felt really meaningful to me.

And thank you to my parents for always showing up for me, believing in me, and for the brisket burritos 🌯❤️

Also if you were there that night, you heard Around 💛 It’s the first single I’ve released with Abi x The Bees and the fourth original song I’ve released overall. You can stream Around everywhere now, and my EP Pollinating My Heart is coming soon 🐝❤️

Still kind of processing this whole season. Feeling really thankful for all of it!
