People only see 3 minutes under the lights. They don’t see the 5 AM alarms hitting you like a brick when your body is already broken from a 12-hour shift. They don’t see the quiet hours spent holding down the line by day, then stepping into the gym to trade peace for pain by night.

Being an amateur fighter with a full-time job isn't glamorous. You don't get paid. You trade your sleep, your weekends, and your body for a dream most people think is crazy. You show up when you're exhausted, wrap your hands, and push past the wall because the end goal is bigger than the temporary pain.

When that bell rings, every single sacrifice makes sense. I aint just showing up to compete; I’m laying the foundation to go all the way to the top. The work in the dark is what builds a champ.

Not only a champion for myself, but for all my Tamil people around the world. I wanna be the peoples champ; for the people from the people👊🏾

This is bigger than boxing and I wanna put Tamils on the map🐅

9 years ago, I entered my first tournament away from home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was the only fighter in my weight class from outside the US. I went there looking for experience, but came home with hardware instead! 🏆 @stategamesofamerica

Winning a belt in Floyd Mayweather’s hometown was dope— Needless to say,on October 3rd, I’m doing the exact same thing in Montreal. ‼️

Another outstanding showcase by @gideonboxingacademy. It was incredible to see Scarborough represented at such a high level, from an electrifying women’s bout to @mathusan13 inspiring return to the ring after two years away.

The evening was a true testament to resilience, grit, discipline, and the countless hours of work that athletes and coaches invest long before fight night. Every bout was a reflection of the sacrifices made behind the scenes and the dedication required to earn that moment under the lights.

A special shoutout to @warriorqueenbonnie & @hadimadeit for their exceptional commentary during the women’s fight that I had the honour to be apart of, bringing energy, insight, and passion to an already memorable matchup. Gideon boxing is always leveling up! Appreciation also goes out to the ringside officials, event staff, photographers, videographers, and media team whose efforts help tell these stories and showcase the sport, the athletes, and the community.
