Everything I have done/do have been in direct response to the communities I serve. This project in particular sparked when a young Bengali girl came to me after she had been sextorted, afraid and unclear on where to go or who to turn to. My heart broke when I didn’t have anywhere to send her that would actually help. This project is in honor of her, and all of the other victims searching for answers.

Today I’m sharing that I’m a 2026 Mozilla Foundation Fellow.

No Clear Remedy, is a documentary I’m producing with my dear friend, Suzanne M. Ariza (she/her/ella).
I am still in shock that I was chosen out of thousands of global applicants and named a fellow alongside my 9 peers, whose work you can learn about here: https://lnkd.in/gdpSiPD4

This opportunity is a culmination of a decades worth of field work, community advocacy and storytelling. I am humbled by this honor! So humbled by this insanely brilliant and courageous class of @mozillafoundation Fellows, and proud to be serving as a curricular advisor, connecting them to people and opportunities that will help them grow over the next year.

These Fellows hail from all over the world, are advancing human rights through the tech that they’re building, and proving that a better tech future is not just possible, it’s already being built. We met up in Mexico City for the kickoff and truly wow, my faith in humanity has been restored.

A good tech future won’t be built by billionaires.

Join us as we welcome our 2026-2027 cohort of Mozilla Fellows 🎉 made up of 10 global builders who are unafraid to imagine and make alternatives to dominant technology systems.

Over the course of the next year, Mozilla Fellows will produce solutions that the usual funding circuits haven’t caught up with yet. Often it hasn’t been picked up yet because it’s too early, too unexpected, or just too big.

This work shows an actual quantum simulation developed for this artwork. It renders the evolution of a quantum cellular automaton: a self-evolving algorithm built not on bits, but on qubits, their quantum equivalent. This simulation was developed in collaboration with quantum software researcher Mathys Rennela.

The quantum automaton evolves as an entangled state. Predefined rules, based on quantum amplitude and entropy, trigger measurements. Those measurements then randomly collapse the qubit into a state of 0 (dead, shown in white) or 1 (alive, shown in black). Both cells will continue under unitary evolution as part of the automaton, endlessly shifting shape.

The automaton is kept alive by a balance between measurements (which we can observe) and unitary evolution (which we cannot). If we measured the whole automaton, it would collapse all qubit states and reset the automaton. To look at it would be to end it.

Le 20 juin dernier, nous lancions officiellement “Explain The Sound”, le premier podcast original de @maisonmondesafricains , réalisé par @mmlmeryl, en collaboration avec @loudbs___ et @blackjoy.2000

Pensé comme une enquête sonore, intime et collective, Explain The Sound retrace l’histoire des musiques électroniques à travers celles et ceux qui les ont créées, transformées et portées. À travers un prisme noir et dans un contexte français, en six épisodes, le podcast explore comment des cultures nées dans les communautés afrodescendantes, queer et marginalisées sont devenues un phénomène mondial, tout en interrogeant les mécanismes d’effacement, d’appropriation et d’invisibilisation qui continuent de traverser ces scènes aujourd’hui.

Aux côtés de Mathys Rennela @mathysrennela et Élodie Vitalis @abs8lute Laure Togola à la modération et Marie-Maxime Dricot, nous avons échangé autour de questions essentielles : comment transmettre l’histoire de ces mouvements ? Comment préserver leur mémoire ? Comment imaginer des espaces festifs plus inclusifs et plus justes ? Et comment faire en sorte que la fête demeure un lieu de création, de liberté, de résistance et de visibilité ?

Merci à toutes les personnes présentes pour leur écoute, leurs questions et leur énergie.

Lancement d’Explain The Sound, le premier podcast original de MansA

À l’occasion du lancement du podcast Explain The Sound, MansA propose une rencontre consacrée à la place historique et centrale des artistes noir·es dans les cultures électroniques.

Nées des expériences afrodescendantes et queer, la house et la techno ont longtemps constitué des espaces de création, de liberté et de résistance. Pourtant, les communautés qui les ont façonnées continuent de faire face à des mécanismes d’invisibilisation et d’appropriation.

Après une écoute collective d’extraits du podcast, cette rencontre ouvrira une réflexion sur les enjeux qui traversent aujourd’hui les scènes électroniques : représentation, transmission, mémoire, accès aux espaces festifs et transformation des cultures de la nuit.

Comment préserver l’histoire de ces mouvements ? Comment imaginer des espaces festifs plus inclusifs ? Et comment faire de la fête un lieu où les récits, les luttes et les héritages qui l’ont vue naître continuent de s’affirmer ?

Pour cette édition, les musiques électroniques seront questionnées sous le prisme de l’appropriation, de l’exotisation et du fétichisme. 

Les interventions de chercheurs (Samuel Lamontagne et @mathysrennela ), croisées à l’expérience de terrain des musiciennes du duo @acidusa_ ouvriront des pistes de réflexion retraçant l’histoire et l’actualité de la culture DJ, qui seront ensuite approfondies à travers un échange avec le public.

How does sound hold space for global grief, how can sound be the keeper and messenger of memory?

Today: Echo & Decay: an evening on Black Technologies and Sciences delves into the practices of black artists that have created various technologies and Secret Languages or Lingua Franca’s to decentralise whiteness, and who practice alternative visions of sound, spirituality and technology.
Sciences here refers to “bush magic”, as used in Jamaican vernacular.
Inspired by the extensive work of @bushmagus on Technopoetics.
