Mary Queen of Scot’s tour 2025. What can I say.

Working on this project has been the highlight of my career so far. Working alongside people that constantly push you to create the best possible product is such a rewarding process. Every show and every standing ovation has made every long day and stressful session absolutely worth it.

I’m gutted to not be there for the final week next week in Edinburgh @captheatres but leaving the show in the safe hands of @gerrie_sound. Thanks for everything on this run, I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Just want to say another massive thank you to @thewarehouse.sound for everything on this tour. Right from the very start right down to the last minute phone calls you’ve made the whole thing easy for us.

It’s been an honour and a privilege to take @mika_karlsson and @michael_p_atkinson work around the country and I’m grateful for the trust they put in me to deliver it each week.

See you in 2026 Mary.

Scottish Ballet on tour: New Zealand 2025 🇳🇿

Our tour company has returned to Scotland after 2 wholesome weeks in New Zealand. Whilst we reflect on the many memories and connections we made during our time on the other side of the world, here are some of our highlights:

💚 Sharing the stage (and their studios) with @nzballet at St. James Theatre.
💚 Being welcomed to the British High Commissioner’s Homewood residence in Wellington, with beautiful hospitality and bagpipes upon arrival. @ukinnewzealand
💚 Company class on tour at @wellesleystudios, Auckland - thanks for sharing your space with us!
💚 Performing in Auckland for the first time ever with our NZ premiere of A Streetcar Named Desire as part of the @aucklandartsfestival; receiving raving reviews and standing ovations!
💚 Being part of the mihi whakatau hosted by RNZB and pōwhiri (welcome ceremonies) hosted by Auckland Arts Festival staff.
💚 Having the Auckland Philharmonia (@aklphil) join us for perfomances of A Streetcar Named Desire (and hearing them shout ‘STELLLAAA’ for the pictures).

Thank you to everyone that made our tour a memorable experience, and audiences that came to see the shows. Kia ora, Aotearoa! 💚🎉

We fact-checked, it’s 55 shows of The Nutcracker for this winter tour. 🤓

From Scottish Ballet HQ to each tour venue, our technical team make every show on stage possible. What you often don’t see beyond the curtains is the stage set up, days before we perform. When the curtains close, the team are busy with load-ins/outs, packing and unpacking of the trailers, untangling of certain decorations, setting up electrics and the transportation of our vans between each location.

For our winter tours, we multiply that process by 55 (and sometimes it’s a lot more!).

The Nutcracker continues on the road from Glasgow to Edinburgh, Inverness, Aberdeen and Newcastle in 2025. 🚘 See you soon, @captheatres 👋

It has been said that creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties.
I sometimes see life itself as a performance full of uncertainties. The roles we play and the risks we take amidst the uncertainties result in the experiences that make us who we are. #evemutsounknown #blackandwhitephotography
